Mets go quietly in the 7th....as if there's no urgency whatsoever.

Villar PH for Loup, whiffed looking.....Nimmo flied out.
Lindor also whiffed looking.

Mets trail 2-1

Stretch time at CBP.

Familia will be coming in.

Familia gets the 1st batter....then Pete commits an E-3.
Familia walks the next hitter..(2 on...1 out)....next batter hits into a force play at 2nd (1st & 3rd..2 outs)
Now he walks the PH to load the bases for the top of the order now.

Stay tuned....or don't....I wouldn't blame you if you didn't.....lol

Holy shit....Familia somehow wiggled out of disaster by striking out McCutcheon looking to leave them loaded.

Still 2-1 phils...heading to the 8th.

LFGM!!!

Damn...I thought Pete got a hold of one there....but it was deep enough to allow McNeil (HBP) to tag up and take 2nd.

Conforto flied out for out #2
Davis got IBB'd...
WP moves both runners up with Smith hitting....but he K'd a few pitches later.

Geeeeeez...can someone...anyone, please step up and ignite this offense and get them out of their doldrums?

This is getting real hard to watch.

Nice start so far.
Mets put up 4 in the 1st.
Wheeler already at 32 pitches.
McCann killing the rally wouldn't bother me so much if he only made an out, but he GIDP to end it...so Walker will lead off next inning....but in the grand scheme of things I guess I shouldn't complain too much....lol....yet.

4-0 Mets mid 1st.

Edit:
Tai Walker, after giving up a 1 out single, tosses a shutdown frame.

Onto the 2nd.

Yes!
Michael Conforto's 2nd HR of the year couldn't have come at a better time.
It untied the game in the top of the 9th.
He also had a 2 rbi double in the 1st.

Mets win 5-4....ending their mini losing streak/scoring drought.

Edwin Diaz set the Phils down 1-2-3 (w/ 2K's) in the bottom of the 9th.
Robber game mañana.

Except for the 1st inning HR Peterson allowed on his 3rd pitch of the game, he's pitched really well, but he's at 88 pitches now thru 5...so he likely just has 1 more inning in him.

1-1 tie heading to the 6th.

Good lord...WTF was Villar swinging at there??

All 3 pitches he swung at were way up out and of the zone.

Need McCann to come thru here.....1st & 3rd....1out.

edit:
E-1...I'll take it....lol

Mets take the lead 2-1.

Mets have them loaded in the 6th...with 2 outs....Phils are challenging the force play at 2nd.

Call on the field stays.

Need *Lindor to do something nice here now....

edit:
*Nada. I'm not sure what he's seeing...or if he's using a bat that's too heavy for him...but something's not right.

:L

2-1 Mets...mid 5th.

Again....*someone please let me know when he's gonna show up.

Thanks in advance.

LGM!

Ugghhh
So predictable.

How is it that right after a "mound meeting", they usually screw up almost immediately afterwards??
Castro threw that 1st pitch to Gregorius right down Broadway....
Bang....3 run HR....4-2 Phils.

The sad consequences of leaving the bases loaded in the top half of the inning..will usually come back to haunt.

Repeating the same stupid mistakes over and over....at the plate/on the basepaths/in the field/on the mound.

It's like they never ever learn.
Still lacking fundamentally.

So deflating.
