Super excited for the draft, but not getting my hopes up that we'll have a new Hawk tonight. Someone will want to move up to that 32nd spot to try and nab one of the QBs that fell so they can get the 5th year option.

Day 2 will probably be more exciting for Seattle fans with likely two second round picks and perhaps a trade up into 3rd territory with the early 4th we will prob. acquire.

Yeah, nobody will be surprised if the Seahawks trade down. Not a bad idea, but I'll be disappointed because I've got to get up at 2am to go to work and I plan to stay up to watch the pick anyways. Going to kill me to have to wait another day to find out who is the next new Seahawk player is.

It could go either way, but what benefits the Seahawks is you can demand a better picks scenario in return if the trading partner is QB hunting. The motivation is there and you can squeeze them harder and time will be short with fewer other teams looking to make the deal.

If the Seahawks could add a 2nd in the first 10 picks and possibly a 3rd or early 4th. It would be absolutely worth it to trade back 10 spots at this position. Both parties get what they want, but the Seahawks would make out really good on the deal.

Any surprises so far in your opinions ? I thought the Lions getting a TE was surprising ... There leaning pure offense in Detroit... I figured the Lions would go defense for sure...

Lions always seem to pick someone to make their receiving corp better.

I would say for the first time in a long time the Browns fans should be proud of their draft.

Idk, I'm not a big fan of Manziel and just don't see him being very good. The comparisons to RW are not fair to RW bc RW was MUCH more polished coming out of college. The only knock on RW was his ability to throw in the pocket based on his height. Manziel has MANY holes to his game and although I don't think he'll be Brady Quinn terrible, I don't really see him being more then an average QB in the NFL.

Well there you go. We trade with the Vikings who were looking for that QB.

This actually works out beautifully. We move back 8 spots in 2nd, but gain the 8th pick in the 4th round. That basically replaces the end of the 3rd round pick we gave to the Vikings in the Harvin trade.

So in the end, we gave up just the 25th pick in last years draft for Harvin.

Schneidered!!! BOOM!!!

and 21 spots in value, but if this draft is truly deep, especially in that area, the talent difference may be pretty much negligible.

Any chance we somehow move up in the 2nd, using 64 and 108?

It's a deep draft this year for many of the Seahawks positions of need. Was kind of a let down not getting a pick after watching 4+ hours of draft, but still. I got no problems with this move.

Once the QBs started slipping and the DBs started going early, I had a feeling someone would want to jump ahead of Houston.

Bingo. We had a highly motivated QB buyer on our hands and go figure it was the Viks. We basically got back the end of round 3rd pick we gave to them as part of the Harvin deal. :suds:
