Exactly, the risk was way too high BlueSc_Icetea. Why take a risk on a Wr in a WR deep draft? It doesn't make sense. skinsdad those two centers could be gone.

you are right shark he was projected a 1st when this process all started. BUT then there has been nothing but criticism about Benjamin which was driving his stock down. The odds are greater that Benajmin would of been a late 2nd b/c of bad work ethic and questionable hands. His stock was going down not up.

Dean.. I will give you that. But the guys mentioned as "better" prospects were never even considered as possible first rounders in most cases. You usually get pegged as a first rounder based on talent, Latimer, Coleman and Robinson obviously ere never considered to have the talent to be first rounders at any point in the process.

I never said Coleman. Robinson, Lattimer, Lee, and Matthews. These were the hot WR's late in the draft process not Benjamin.

Hot as in moving up from 3rd or later round up to a possible 2nd rounder. Who cares if he was the hot name or not. He was drafted within the range originally expected from the moment he declared for the draft. He has consistently been considered a better talent than those you mention. And odds are he would not have been there at 50 something which is the next time the Panthers pick. So looks like they decided the drop off between Benjamin and the next group of WRs was alot steeper than the drop off from Moses or Kojo, to the next group of OTs on the board.

Robinson has been considered a fringe first rounder, and for some time

I threw his name out originally as a guy we could look at and summarily had my membership in the human race questioned. So group think around here has told me he was not worthy.

I actually really like him as the next best wr (marquise lee apparent knee issues, and too small)

Robinson has a big frame and can go up for the ball. Also, he played in a nfl offense at Penn

Dean, what makes you think McShay is the ultimate authority? Why do you put so much stock into what these talking heads say?

b/c they are supposed to have more knowledge than us. I like McShays reasoning when he defends his opinions. He has a middle 1st round grade on Moses. I agree with him. Moses will be a nice RT which we need.

Well, guess what? He was wrong about Moses. He didn't go in the mid first round.

I know that's why we are getting huge value if we take him. Just b/c the Dolphins and Panthers are stupid doesn't mean he is not a good player.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ok with taking him tonight. He's worth it at 34.

i think he is worth it too but trading down a few spots could be good for us too

there are several good football players we can add

Just depends on what we can get in a trade down and how far. I'm sure Allen has been on the phone all day.

I agree. Just concerned that we trade one really good player for two mediocre players if we trade too far back.

Yep, If you look at big boards after the 3rd round, there's steep drop off for talent that could contribute ASAP.
There's tons of talent left but, we aren't the best at development. Also, there are tons of WRs, but that doesn't help us.
I think Moses is a good pick and could be a stud his 2nd year...since the senior bowl he's been a considered a 2nd rounder who could work his way into the 1st...that's what he's been labelled as. So, I think he'd be a good pick.
The so called experts gave him a friendly boost.
