It appears as though he is beginning to heat up a bit. Shame that we don't have anyone in the system that can get on base in front of him.

Read an article on Pirates site that says Hurdle is toy in with the idea of moving him in the order to get him more RBI chances. I have a better idea, how about you move him to the second spot in the line-up and get the best use of his abilities and optimize the line-up.

I just remembered there is some guy in AAA that seems to get on base pretty well.

that is cool.
what a dream come true.
the conversation, care, compassion and honor he received from mccutchen dwarfed eating in CF and being the center of attention.

I see McCutchen doing this stuff all the time, like Brandon Phillips in Cinci. Love both of 'em.

I took the family to a game in Milwaukee, before the game Cutch came over to the stands and started signing autos for everyone. I sent my wife and kids down with the game tickets to get signed. Instead of signing the tickets, Cutch grabbed both of my boys gloves and signed them. He even stood there and waited while my wife asked about 20 people if she could borrow their Sharpie..........and I was able to get a couple pictures as well.

The guy is just a class act and deserves to get a fair contract commensurate with his talent level, his gameplay, and most importantly what he means to the city of Pittsburgh.

The same could be said for Mike Trout......every word of this thread.

Well that freaking sucks, a strained oblique. Relying on him too much was going to catch up to this team sooner or later.

im thinking they roll out tabata

If they do, Tabata would have to be added to the 40-man, as I'm pretty sure he was taken off of it when he got demoted to AAA.

I think they should bring up either Lambo or Rojas Jr.

Rib fracture, no idea if that's better or worse than an oblique, but he's not on the official DL as of yet.

I assume this injury can be attributed to Gibson's bushleague decision to line up Cutch with a beanball on Saturday. Thanks a lot, Dick :tsk:

Fracture of costochondral cartilage at the 11th rib, which is where he got hit.

The tendon is pulling away from the bone. Not a direct result of a HBP, but it seems likely to me that the bean ball played a role. I mean, it would be some coincidence if McCutchen just happened to injure the exact location the pitch hit the very next day...

Yeah, looking at it, I would be shocked if they weren't connected. It's a shame that asshats like Gibson and Towers are tearing that team apart with the fake tough guy routine.
