While I understand your sentiments on the player, there is a pretty easy way to understand what we're dealing with in this case. The irony relating to redemption and the judgements that we apply to others under these circumstances is that we see clear examples every time we peer into a mirror. So, ask yourself, are YOU the same person that you were at 18? Looking back at some of the dumb shit done at 18, what would 21 year old you tell 18 year old you to avoid?

Making a comparison between Mixon and McCaffrey is just not reasonable in football terms, it just isn't! ! I can see your point in noting that McCaffrey is relatively clean in comparison, but even that presupposes the "un-human" is incapable of learning from a huge mistake, or that he of a more pristine image is not capable of crossing lines once his pockets are full of NFL dollars. Dude we're talking about football players!! A substantial investment with a shelf life usually not to exceed 4.5 -5 years. So since you bought it up, let's talk about it. Are you seriously suggesting that we NOT make our team as strong as possible because our front office is , from our perspective, dysfunctional? If so, I've got news! That perception is not shared inside of Ashburn where it counts most....with Bruce and because Bruce is still there Dan.That said, we agree that bringing the young man in for as many visits as it takes to "feel"him out is necessary. To me it's plain dumb to pre judge and take him off big boards, especially on a team where it appears that dismissing dysfunction seems to be the norm.

I agree to remove Mixon of your board is crazy. I would be doing back flips if he is there at #49 and we took a defensive player at #17.

Man, I'm really torn at this point -- the media has messed me up BAD. RB was the furthest position on my board at 17 and now, I believe I'd be ok with Cook or McCaffery. I even like the bloodline, squeaky clean -- "joker" factor he presents as well. I still like Peppers, reaching for Melifonwu -- Foster and Reddick if they are there.
I'm trying not to think like a FAN but like an organization who is offensive minded, and for years has shown they won't put much into fixing the 3-4 through the draft.

I think I like McCaffery OVER Cook

absolutely wrong. IF that was the case why wouldn't Gruden give Jones another shot? Cook, Mixon, and CM can all hurt you in the passing game. Gruden is looking for WR threats not guys like LeGareet Blount.

Big backs like Founette, Foreman, and Perine are probably not even of Grudens board.
right mixon and cook can also be the bell cow hence why i dont like the thin CM

CM is limited by size to be a bell cow runner , if the need is for a 1300 yd runner and a guy that can punch it in the red zone then CM isnt the guy , spending a 1st rounder on a change of pace back who cant block as well as the small CT doesnt pass the value test

if kelley is going to be the lead back and you dont like the fumble happy jones then the other RBS are batter options

so i dont see the need to draft a 3rd down back at 17

that is your opinion but what you fail to realize is that this offense does not require a bell cow back. He might not be there at 17. That is how valuable he is.

I'd rather have Mixon @49 than Cook or McCaffrey @17, but am not willing to take the risk that Mixon would be there at 49, so I would roll with one of the other two @17 if they were there. Preferably Cook at the moment, but that gap is narrowing.

Not at all. I want Reddick, Foster, any three rbs(CM,DC, and JM). Those are my crushes right now.

If Watt is taken over Reddick or Foster I will be upset. IF we did go Watt then Mixon in rounds 1 and 2 I would be happy. I will admit that its going to be a longshot to get Mixon on this team.

I doubt Foster makes it to us Reddick may be there but Watt fills a need because Preston Smith has been somewhat of a disappointment and Gallette just can't depend on him to play at all and we could land McMillan in the 2nd

Yes but Reddick can also be a pass rusher so he can do multiple things. Taking Watt over Reddick at 17 doesn't make sense to me.

call me when he has 1300 yds rushing and does it year in and year out . he isnt what we need . CT provides what he brings to the table . add to it the list of players who cant carry the load at his size

and sure pundits and scouts can say a lot of things but i dont see CM as close to being the best fit for this team at RB when lined up vs fournette , cook , mixon or foreman

yeah he can line up "anywhere " but can he tote the rock for 20 to 25 times a game ?

If he "totes" the Rock 12-15 or so times a game and has another 5-7 receptions per game, and averages 150-200 yards per game and say 15 combined TDs.... will it really matter?? If we are getting the production and more importantly the points out of him, does it really matter HOW he gets them??

Let me remind you Dean... If we are going to take a RB, my back of choice would be Cook. I would be OK with McCaffery because it would me we are NOT going to draft captain knock a bitch out. And I can see the positives McCaffery might bring. But again he would be an acceptable choice if we go RB at 17, but not my first choice. I would say say no to Mixon, but apparently that might get you punched.

NFL Network's Peter Schrager reports "multiple front office execs" have told him Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey has a chance to come off the board in the first ten picks.

NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah appears to be on the same page, giving McCaffrey to the Panthers at No. 8 in his latest mock after being told by an NFL executive the running back "really helped himself" in the pre-draft process. Following Dalvin Cook's extremely poor showing at the Combine, McCaffrey likely will be the second running back off the board behind Leonard Fournette.

There is no question that McCaffrey is the most talented RB in this draft. An extraordinary talent.

I'd take McCaffrey over Cook without hesitation.
