It looks like we already have 7 in favor of expansion by adding 12 new teams to a B league. 3 of the 7 are NOT in favor of expanding gradually.

Since 7 of 12 is already enough for a simple majority, we might as well start thinking about people to invite. We will need 12 or 13 depending on Dub. Off of the top of my head, I can think of 2 from here who might be interested:

Microwahevo and MilkSpiller.

Both guys were in the football league and both post on the baseball boards as well. I think they would each be good additions.

We know Micro's interested, and he's got my vote. Good FF player and extremely active on the league boards. I'm good with Milk as well.

Well there's no denying the Foot brings a certain "value" to a league. And he'd definitely be humble amongst this group.

Heh...I missed whatever problems anyone had with Foot. All I know is that he was very active in the Barbarians and a lot of fun. I'm good with it as well.

BTW, have ya noticed I'm kinda emphasizing on the "active"? I think that is a very important consideration, even more so than actual fantasy baseball knowledge. That can be learned.

I'll make an effort to be more into this side of it, just hope I actually bring something to the table there.

And you'd have had to be around the "board which shall not be named" to get the whole Foot thing. ..guy was different this year, in a good way

I am definitely interested and willing. As this is your league fellas, I'll be ok with whatever. I've never done a roto league before, just h2h leagues. So it'll be an interesting new challenge.

Opening day is getting nearer by the day! We have a few decisions to make as we move toward opening day. I have them split into two tiers. Tier 1 initiatives need to be discussed and voted on NOW. Tier 2 initiatives can be discussed, but we will not vote on any of them until we have established tier 1.

Tier 1

League Expansion: As many of you know, this league was established using the blue print created by Wil White and the MBBRL football guys. Our football brothers have 24 teams that form 2 separate leagues, an A and a B. Each season, the top 2 or 4 finishers from the B league get promoted to A, while the corresponding bottom finishers from the A league will move down.

If we opted to move toward this model, we would decide the specific criteria for movement at a later time. The issue in play now is whether or not we want to try and start expansion this year. Since we have moved over to SportsHoopla, there are a few posters here who would make good additions.

I don't want to add just anybody, but I do have a couple people in mind who would make good additions. The idea would be to add in 2 or 4 teams this year, taking us up to either 14 or 16 teams that would all play in 1 league for now. The end goal would be for us to have 2 12 team leagues, but that would likely be a few years away.

Based on the constitution, we need a simple majority in order to approve expansion. Right now, you can reply to this thread with a simple Y or N to this topic. If we decide to expand, the original 12 will get the chance to approve potential new owners.

Draft Date:

I would like to try and establish a time early on so that we can plan around it. Treff and Big D have already mentioned conflicts in mid March, so any time from the 16th-23rd looks to be out of play. In response to this initiative, please list any major conflicts that you have so we can start to narrow down a draft time. If we choose to expand, new owners will have to live with what we decide here.

Moving the League Site to Fantrax:

I love Y!, but I really hate that the weekly line-up deadline is Sunday night. Many of us were burned by that at one time or another. Paul has been messing around on Fantrax and since looking around there a little myself, we can easily do everything that Y! enabled us to with the free league and we would be able to adjust the weekly line-up deadline to right before the start of the first game if we used Fantrax.

This vote would require a 2/3 majority to change host sites.

Tier 2 Initiatives:

We have talked a lot about possible scoring changes, such as QS instead of wins and adding categories like OPS or Holds. I would like to unofficially open those conversations, but we need to get the three tier 1 agenda items decided before we take any type of vote on the setting changes.

OK guys Fuzzies are now ready for Baseball- Actually had a couple of keeper leagues open up for early trading for a week in December but just recently started to build my FBB rankings. I am definately in for this year.
My votes:
-I am a tax accountant so the weekend of March 15-17 would be tough. March 8 is out as I am going to see ZZ Top with wife, daughter and boyfriend. I will work around any other time.
-Expansion is good with me. Would prefer to hold the league size down to 14 or less.
-I may be an old dog but I think I can learn Fantrax. I go with majority on this one.

Micro and Milk both good with me based on FFB experience. A watered down Foot is good with me too. Even in a watered down version he provides some color to a league.
