Fantrax gives you the option to include those games or to not include them.
My feeling is they should be included. I just figure counting 162 games for every player is most fair.
I see argument agaunst in in h2h though.

I am for expansion. However, I'm kind of with Sam on the 12 team ruling. I guess the bottom four (of a 16 teamer) could move down if the two 12 teamers come into play, but I think I'd rather the consistency of the league size. (if I'm in the minority here, I also have no problem going with the majority)

Draft date can pretty much be anytime for me.

I've just started roaming around fantrax... seems like a good site and I would have no problem moving.

With expansion, I want to make sure that we get good people in. That will be hard if we open up an entire B league at once.

Let's say hypothetically that we added 4 teams at a time each year.

We could have 1 16 team league this year.

2 10 team leagues next year with the bottom 6 moving down

and 2 12 team leagues the following with 4 B league teams moving up and only 2 moving down.

Is that crazy?

I with Sam and TKO on the expansion. Too many teams in one league after you Eclipse 12 for me. Pitching us way too watered down, as are most positional players that actually belong on a roster.
So yes to expansion to a 2 league system, NO to anything that moves past the 12 team threshold. Would even be open to 2 10 team leagues if it helps facilitate that first expansion.
Draft date.. I'm open to anything outside of the aforementioned dates. And as it relates to the Australia early opening day..it should count. .All 162 games should count.
Fantrax vs Yahoo- really don't have a preference, but to help the process along, my vote will go along with whatever the majority is when the voting deadline is up.

I vote yes to this, although perhaps a 14 team league this year would be better? Either way I am for expansion.

I think I'm good to go at any time in March for the draft.

I just checked out and registered with Fantrax (Chef99) and it seems fine to me, so I vote yes unless Yahoo decides to change its weekly lineup time. If that is the case, then I vote to stay with Yahoo.

I frankly enjoy deeper leagues, but then, my knowledge/tactics tend to do well in that format, so that might be why. I vote yes for expansion in any form.

Times for drafts are fully open for me. I have lots of drafts every year, but no one has set a date yet, so my schedule is open. Any day, any time, though I tend to be more a morning person than late-night owl.

I'm happy to switch to Fantrax if it seems better than Yahoo. I've never liked Yahoo's system, which is why all my favorite/best leagues are on CBS. The commish can't do ANYTHING during the live draft on Yahoo's system.

For categories to add/alter, I'd be happy with BA taken out and OBP or OPS put in. I also like SV+HD, but not as big of a fan as Holds for its own category. QS or W is fine with me either weay.

Is everyone from last year's league still in? Wondering about Dub in particular...

BTW, are we still in for keeping the draft order the same? If it has to change to make the league work I'm fine with it (but of course I would rather keep it the way it is).

How difficult would it be to round up 12 guys for a B league?
Could even stipulate only top 8 teams continue next year.
I can't imagine it'd be easy to find 12 more posters but hey, who knows :)
Would save the draft order and the 12 team current set up.
Just an idea, I'm happy no matter what :)

One thing to consider that kinda ties tier 1 expansion with tier 2 categories. .. More than 12 teams, with @ 3 closers per team=already more closers than available in MLB. Expanding to more than 12 teams basically dictates some sort if change as it pertains to saves vs saves+holds.

Not necessarily. Almost every time I'm in a redraft 5x5, at least one team punts saves. And if no one does that, and everyone tries to grab closers, it simply means teams are more likely to have only 2 "sure" closers. If you want to dominate the SV category, you simply have to prioritize their value and take them earlier in the draft.

Plus, let's not forget that the closer role has about a 40% turnover rate every year. There are always closers in waiting on the waiver wire. I grabbed Uehara and Melancon via the FA pool last year, and went from punting SV (along with another team) to gaining 3 points in the category.

To answer Sam's question about draft order, it will still be the same.

I have not yet reached out to Dub, but I think he may be out. If we have to replace him then the new owner moves into his draft spot. I am not sure how we would handle expansion teams if we went to more than 12 in the league, but it sounds like many are against that already.

Can't argue with any of that, and I still hate it. Would much rather be in a league where everyone has a chance in every category. And winning that category every week is based on picking the right guys to play, not by the fact the other team just had no other option. It's a competitive balance thing to me and I don't think that a great, competitive league should have a category where a team or teams are basically forced to punt any one category based solely on lack of options.

It looks like we already have 7 in favor of expansion by adding 12 new teams to a B league. 3 of the 7 are NOT in favor of expanding gradually.

Since 7 of 12 is already enough for a simple majority, we might as well start thinking about people to invite. We will need 12 or 13 depending on Dub. Off of the top of my head, I can think of 2 from here who might be interested:

Microwahevo and MilkSpiller.

Both guys were in the football league and both post on the baseball boards as well. I think they would each be good additions.
