Actually, yes. Expansion is a topic of discussion. 1 possibility would be to expand all the way to where we had 2 12 team leagues (not sure we can do that this year, but maybe). Another would be to add a couple teams in to make our existing 12 teamer into a 14 or 16, and the third would be to keep things as is.
But that is just a sneak peek. Look for more detail in a couple days. Decisions, decisions.

Just wanted to check in and say I'm still around, and due to peer pressure am still planning on being back..hope and pray I can make the draft this time though. The ski trip that cost me the draft last year? This year that trip is March 14th to the 18th, so please don't pick one of those days!

Ok. so we are already looking ate either an early draft or a really late draft. Makes no difference to me as I will be around for pretty much all of March. Any other March conflicts?

Opening day is getting nearer by the day! We have a few decisions to make as we move toward opening day. I have them split into two tiers. Tier 1 initiatives need to be discussed and voted on NOW. Tier 2 initiatives can be discussed, but we will not vote on any of them until we have established tier 1.
Tier 1
League Expansion: As many of you know, this league was established using the blue print created by Wil White and the MBBRL football guys. Our football brothers have 24 teams that form 2 separate leagues, an A and a B. Each season, the top 2 or 4 finishers from the B league get promoted to A, while the corresponding bottom finishers from the A league will move down.
If we opted to move toward this model, we would decide the specific criteria for movement at a later time. The issue in play now is whether or not we want to try and start expansion this year. Since we have moved over to SportsHoopla, there are a few posters here who would make good additions.
I don't want to add just anybody, but I do have a couple people in mind who would make good additions. The idea would be to add in 2 or 4 teams this year, taking us up to either 14 or 16 teams that would all play in 1 league for now. The end goal would be for us to have 2 12 team leagues, but that would likely be a few years away.
Based on the constitution, we need a simple majority in order to approve expansion. Right now, you can reply to this thread with a simple Y or N to this topic. If we decide to expand, the original 12 will get the chance to approve potential new owners.
Draft Date:
I would like to try and establish a time early on so that we can plan around it. Treff and Big D have already mentioned conflicts in mid March, so any time from the 16th-23rd looks to be out of play. In response to this initiative, please list any major conflicts that you have so we can start to narrow down a draft time. If we choose to expand, new owners will have to live with what we decide here.
Moving the League Site to Fantrax:
I love Y!, but I really hate that the weekly line-up deadline is Sunday night. Many of us were burned by that at one time or another. Paul has been messing around on Fantrax and since looking around there a little myself, we can easily do everything that Y! enabled us to with the free league and we would be able to adjust the weekly line-up deadline to right before the start of the first game if we used Fantrax.
This vote would require a 2/3 majority to change host sites.
Tier 2 Initiatives:
We have talked a lot about possible scoring changes, such as QS instead of wins and adding categories like OPS or Holds. I would like to unofficially open those conversations, but we need to get the three tier 1 agenda items decided before we take any type of vote on the setting changes.

1) I'd love to expand. Small steps seems like a good route to me as well.
2) I'm pretty flexible for the draft. Night time would be ideal, but really only problem would be a saturday day time. (I can pre-rank if needed, I won't ever complain about draft date)

Expansion: Would love to see A and B leagues but would rather stay at 12 teams so I would vote no to a 14-16 team league and yes to 2 12 team leagues. Problem is going to be we will need to fill at least Dubs spot in the A league so that would mean we need at least 13 new owners...............unless I missed something and Dub is still in.
Draft Date: The only thing I pretty much can't do is a Friday or Saturday as I work 10-10 each of those days..............unless we did it at 11 PM MNT and that's 1 AM on the east coast so I'm sure that isn't an option. Sunday all day is great for me but week day evenings work too.
Moving Sites: Took me a while to navigate Yahoo (yes, Eye Em Sofa King We Todd Did when it comes to computers) but I will vote with the majority on that one. It's never too late to learn..........

This one is complicated because the first game is on March 22nd in Australia but the rest of the league doesn't start until March 30th. Some sites will require you to have your draft done by the 22nd in order for week one to count, some may dismiss the series being held in Australia and require you to have your draft done before the first game on the 30th. Until registration opens, there is no way to know what each site will do as far as when the first week starts. Unless fantrax has a schedule or ruling on this, it makes planning a draft date now is kind of a moot point.
