Just so everyone knows, I'm still baffled by the Rangers staff allowing the farce of keeping Manny Ramirez in their minor league system continue.

Would any of you drop Jeter in a seasonal league, where the DH spot is real and you currently have Urrutia there, and the only two options on waivers being Raburn (had him last couple weeks), and Steve Smith? Any chance Jeter actually returns before September?

I'm not the shiniest pebble in the fantasy baseball rockpile but my bet is Jeter will be shelved unless the Yanks are in the hunt and that looks pretty unlikely to me. Why not just shelve him and start fresh next year at 100%?

That's a tough spot...doesn't Raburn get the most ABs of the three? I'd probably go that way. Jeter on the dl again, so...I think I agree with Sam on him. You might have him for the last week in August, barring any setbacks.

Well, he probably did not like getting hit in the junk, while demonstrating baserunning skills in MLB t.v's Studio 42.

Hey, is Byrnes the one who does the killer impersonation of Leyland, or is that Smoltz? Whoever it is, he's my new favorite MLB Network guy.

Couldn't make up my mind last night, hence the three moves in 10 minutes!

Anyone looking at last minute trades? I think I'm done, but will listen to any offers for Granderson if there's interest. I don't see any arms being "untouchable" either.

The Brewers put Kyle Lohse on waivers, then pulled him back when they couldn't work out a deal with the claiming team.

Just one more reason for me to dislike the Brewers. :(

Philabuster - well done with Wacha!

I'll reserve judgement on Sonny Gray, though.

And i'm kinda wondering why I picked up Avisail Garcia other than the fact that he's a shiny new toy.

Um...never mind about Wacha, I thought you had picked him up.

However, Avisail's all yours!

And he might be worth it, as of a few minutes ago.

Immediately after trading Alex Rios to the Rangers this afternoon the White Sox called up Avisail Garcia to replace him in their outfield, adding the 22-year-old less than two weeks after they acquired him from the Tigers in the Jake Peavy deal.
Garcia is an interesting player in that he’s been young for every level of competition and has hit .340 between Double-A and Triple-A, but he’s also drawn just 19 walks in those 96 games while striking out 74 times and hitting a modest 12 homers.
If he grows into a bit more power and develops a more patient approach at the plate he could be a middle-of-the-order bat long term.

Kept going back and forth between Wacha and Gray....
Just read that St Louis might go with a 6 man rotation with Wacha. I'd have left it well enough alone if I'd have read that first haha.
My thought was Gray might keep that 5th spot in Oakland.
A crapshoot that it appears I misjudged on ... I do like Gray though and he has the RP eligibility so I won't beat myself up too much.....yet :)

I have to say that this is probably the most fun league i've ever been in. My other two, I check in probably once or twice a week to set my lineup and see if anything interesting is going on, but THIS one...there's pretty much always something interesting going on. :yahoo:

Note to Rev: this doesn't count our keeper league, in which i'm an observer...although I think i'll mosey on over there and see if Delmon is still on the roster.

I really, really didn't wanna make that trade, but no one would bite on Gyorko, and Trumbo was just too much for what a couple of people were offering, although I was tempted...

I hate closers! :gaah::gaah::gaah:

Back from the mountains. Interesting to see the suspensions when I got home.
Now it is time for my team to make a push for the playoffs.
I need big contributions from my new guys, Latos, Crawford and Tillman.
I think my team could be dangerous if I can get into the top six.

Yes...Yellowfuzzy must be stopped. Unfortunately, the Soggy Bottom Boyz are having trouble stopping a guy who has two dead spots in his lineup...:gaah:

Man, I wish Chew and I had made that trade one day earlier. Gonna be a rough week for the pitching categories.

Guys,

Going to be a very busy day for my. Not only is summer vacation at its end, but my family is in the process of moving. I may not have time to do the preview this week.

Happy week 19!
