Sportsboys vs. Sarnia Tigers- Sarnia 7 - Boys 2
The Boys are looking for a spark to turn their season around, but they may be hard pressed to find it here. First place Sarnia is clearly the best in the league right now despite the injury to Pujols.
When they played last, Sarnia won 8-2.
Pitching- Wins could go either way, but Sarnia has a clear edge everywhere else. This one looks ugly on paper unless a couple of Sarnia's arms really poop the bed.
Hitting- Offensive categories should be more interesting. The Tigers have the edge in runs, HR and SBs, while the Boys have the edge in RBI. BA is a swing cat. Aside from steals, however, all the other categories are close enough to go either way.
Week 17 Review
I am pinch hitting for the good Rev this week, so this will be a condensed attempt. Enjoy!
Grand Salami 5, Yellow Fuzzy 5-
The score was as close as it can get, but the categories weren't. Only 1 category was really in doubt heading into the weekend (Ks) and the Salamis were able to lock it down to preserve the tie. Fuzzy may have wasted a great hitting week, because he would have won 4 out of 5 hitting cats with even below average results against the frigid salami line-up.
Dub 9, TKO 1-
This one was a shocker, not because Dub won, but because of the convincing fashion with which it happened. Dub swept the dynamic TKO offense and managed to take 4 out of 5 pitching cats too. Both teams are now firmly on the playoff bubble, in 6th and 7th place respectively.
Wolf Pack 6, WHIP my FIP 4-
The Pack had control of this one from the start and got a little unlucky as they had a chance to win HRs and RBI which eventually went to WHIP. Any win is a good win for the Pack, but the need blowouts to get back in the hunt.
Fudpuckers 5, Soggy Bottoms 4-
This was an excellent battle between 2 good teams. In the end, a Doubront win and a couple timely hits allowed Fud to turn a possible 6-4 defeat into a big win. Both teams look to continue their push for the play-offs next week.
Sarnia Tigers 7, Big League 3
This game was extremely close as 7 of the 10 categories were up in the air heading into Sunday's games. Unfortunately for Big League, he was only able to take control of 3 and. This game could have easily been 7-3 in the other direction.
Sportsboys 7, Big D 2
Sam was able to ride a near sweep of the hitting cats to a big win. Interestingly enough, the tie was the result of neither team stealing a base. The Sportsboys will look to continue to climb back into the race next week while D Dude hopes to right the ship.
Looking at the Wolfpack's pitching strategy for this week, i'm wondering what the Good Rev has up his sleeve...
Simple, I have crap matchups for my # 7 & 8 pitcher so I figured throw two good middle relief pitchers in there instead to help out with whip & era.
Unfortunately Bastardo was one of these mystery players not mentioned.
