I dunno...could be a case of quality over quantity. Also gonna be interesting to see how the closers play out.

Yeah, I picked up McGee for a week so I might get lucky and get a tie or, gulp, a win in the save cat. Think I'll hold on to Zimm and hope he just needs a little rest. Paxton might be back soon and if so I should have a decent staff anyway. Was hoping Danny Santana would be back after the break but not looking so good now. Just have to hope for JV to turn into, um, JV again! (still quite happy with that trade btw)

As well you should be, if only for Adams. I'm still not big on JV, but I could probably use him now. Smart move picking up Torii, I may regret that one. You've got a pretty solid team there, Sammy. I'm not a fan of punting saves, but you and TKO might end up being correct in taking that chance.

I have no doubt that the Rangers are gonna trade Soria, and now it looks like the Tigers are at the front of the pack. Unless they dump Nathan, looks like another round of "Who's the closer?"

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate closers?

Good luck this week Paul. Odd short week. At one point thought I would have to start Joe Kelly to stay legal. Now I have 7 starts and Kelly's start is on the bench. That means no two start pitchers next week!!!

See Fuzzy, if you were like me and had a shitty staff, you would have plenty of 2 start pitchers next week! I think I have 3! (JV, Kohler and one other I think)

What an ugly trade though. I sure don't want Soria to the Tigers if this is the kind of player cost it'll take.
I loved the OAK/CHC deal for both sides..... but this one leans way too far in SD favor.

Looks like Artie and the Angels are going all in for this year. What makes me shake my head is that Smith has been nearly lights-out over the past couple of weeks. Sure, I'm a little biased because I owned him, but look at his numbers. It's been said that Scioscia is adamant about keeping him at setup, so maybe he pushed for this...if so, he better hope they win it all.

Y'know, for this season, Street with Smith and Grilli backing him up looks pretty nice...maybe this will be their year....then you can look forward to another five years of the Sciosciapath. :rollseyes:
