That seems to be the prevailing opinion. I was hoping to avoid the closer crapshoot this year, but I guess it's not in the cards.

Closer trouble in one league. Had Putz, with Madson as fall back. Picked up Bailey. Now all three on DL. Hernandez and Bell available. Which one to grab? Both seem poor but I need to fill the RP spot. Considering Melancon but saves do count plenty in this league-no hold points. Ideas?

Are Hernandez & Bell the ONLY closer options out there? If so, you kind of have to go to Bell, as the D-Backs have. When, not if, but when he faulters, they will turn to Hernandez, and so should you.

However, before you do so, make a quick check, and see if Kevin Gregg is out there, as I would take him over the other 2, which only shows how dire your situation is, and not that Gregg is so much better.

Supposedly Bailey will be back soon and Madson is workings toward it. I agree with D, Bell is probably the best short term option, assuming Tazawa isn't an option. Even that's a crapshoot.

I just remembered Tazawa, and was going to suggest him as well.

Thanks Big D. That is the order of my Waiver- Bell then Hernandez. Will have to get by with Bentancourt and ??? until Bailey or Madson or Putz comes back.

Tazawa- I grabbed the wrong guy (Uehara) when Bailey went down and Tazawa was gone soon thereafter.

I think a lot of people did that when both Bailey & Hanrahan went down, as he was the most likely to get the nod.

At least to everyone NOT the Red Sox manager.

If Putz doesn't come back, I might roll the dice with Bell. He was horrible last year but considering what he did the previous years, he seems like the safe bet. As long as he strings together 4-5 good outings his job is safe.

Irritated nerve? Is this a problem that Putz has, or the feeling that the D-Backs and Heath Bell fantasy owners will have?
