The first cut isn't til after the 2nd week. You do have IR, and will get a bench spot after each of the first 5 eliminations

Yeah, that is why I asked about the IR spot.

Probably would have passed on Godwin without it.

Same thing with me and Michael Thomas. Either I have a top WR later in the draft or I put him on the IR and pick up another one.

Problem with Dobbins, I doubt he's on a pup or otherwise IR eligible, maybe misses the first couple weeks at most? where maybe Godwin/Thomas may or may not be.

isnt that the problem with all players who wont play for several weeks u may be out before they even play

1 bad week and u can be eliminated

Well if you can't put em on the IR and pickup a replacement, vs ones where you can..it's not exactly talking about the same thing. The IR spot is great for someone who is eligible, it's pretty friggin worthless if the player misses a game but isn't eligible for IR

I think anybody who misses a game is IR eligible?

But I could be wrong.

If I am wrong about that, the cost is still pretty low because waiver wire quality is very high.

Only players on the NFL IR / PUP are allowed on the IR.

The way it hurts him is if someone tries to be that guy and steal Dobbins if Treff goes after someone else.

After owners meetings were held this week, the NFL has agreed to make some rule changes as it pertains to the roster.
The big one comes with the Injured Reserve list. Once, being put on IR meant the player's season was over. Then the league started allowing two players to come back, as long as they sat out eight games. That was shortened to three games when Covid hit (although there was a separate Covid list.)
Now, the rule is that a player must miss at least four games after going on IR before they can return. But teams can now bring back as many as eight players from IR, and in an even bigger changed, teams can bring back a particular player twice (it used to be a player could only return once from IR). If a player comes back twice, it counts as two of the eight slots.

i agree on dobbins but basically picking up any player on IR is trading whatever round u take him for an 11th round pick To each his own i guess
