Thanks, but I'm keeping Devers. Maybe now he'll get 3B eligibility for next year.
I had to give it a shot, but yeah, Devers is too good right now and he's only 28.

I certainly offered @Chef99 much more than the Giants gave the Red Sox. LOL.
What do you think is Harrisons ceiling
Hicks is obviously a top half reliever at best
He was supposed to be a top level prospect, but he did poorly last year and he got leapfrogged by Birdson and Roupp. I am not feeling good about him as a prospect. He might not be more than a no. 4 pitcher in an MLB rotation. The only encouraging thing I can find is that he added to his velocity this season. Last year his fastball was only 92.5 mph. This year it is up to 95.1 mph. However, it's a small sample size so far this year and maybe it goes down over the course of the year.
Which means he probably has an arm injury on the way lol.
Yea incredibly low haul
The only way I can make sense of this is that Red Sox management wanted to get out of the 10 year deal they signed Devers to in 2023.Which means he probably has an arm injury on the way lol.

I think it was $313 million?
That's a lot to pay for a guy who, right or wrong, has pretty much been a malcontent all season long.
You're getting a lot of cake lately. Time to go on a diet?odd to say... but i dont think it was about the money at all... it was more about rebuilding with all these young kids... you cant have a role model who is ME FIRST... even if the red sox organization were the reason why he became ME FIRST...

absolutely... it was a terrible trade for the red sox... and it is also JUNE...Okay, but don't you think they could have gotten more?
They blew it when they signed Bregman and told Devers he was gonna DH without even a conversation beforehand.absolutely... it was a terrible trade for the red sox... and it is also JUNE...
but the fact that he is DH only at least for the first year(why would a team trade for him and then have bad relationship with him right away), maybe the market is not THAT high....
but yea, even if the above is true, he should have gotten the red sox more...
but it also sounds like the red sox didnt shop him around... and the Giants just made the right offer at the right time...
i think the red sox were afraid to shop him around, because the atmosphere would have just gotten worse... and then the trade for Devers could have become even worse for the red sox...
The Red sox blew this in every single way...

They should have flipped Devers when they signed Bregman then, 300 mil for a DH is nutty.
They'd have had a better market and not disrupted the team. The only way they don't get smoked in this trade is if Harrison pans out. Hicks on his absolute best day will be a number 5 on a bad team. He is a middle reliever.
or just talk to him before signing Bregman... his issue was not playing other positions... it was that he wasnt practicing any because they told him he wont play anything else...
i dont blame him for becomign a ME guy.... when a team shows you no love, thats how it starts...
at least the Giants havent promised him anything... if they ask him to play another position... he might...
That might make Matt Chapman happy.
