which is why u cant change scoring in the middle of the season
most teams use 5-6 rp cause avg starters are useless :suds:

way too many negative catagories

I never said I was going to make changes for this season.

All I said was that if there was a clear stat that needed to be fixed that didn’t affect the rosters, I don’t see the problem with changing it during season.

Ive been anti reliever guy for the entirety of this league lol. You look at WAR there is like 4 relievers in the top 100

In our league relievers are 11 of the top 20 pitchers

That doesnt jive with their importance.

Casey Mize is 3 and 1 with a 2.22 ERA and a sub 1 WHIP. There is like 23 relievers who have scored more than him.

Chris Bassitt is the number one in pitcher WAR and is behind 15 relievers.

A solid pen is definitely important in baseball but this is clearly out of whack.

Let’s not go backwards. We have already identified relief pitchers are a problem.

I wonder if we are giving too many points to pitchers in general. In 2024, starting pitchers were only 14 of the top 50 in WAR with none in the top 10.

WAR is skewed by defensive output as well.
oWAR has 11.7, 9.2, 9.2, 8.5, 7.9, 6.8 as it's top 6 last year. All of these are in the top 10 for total points
Pitchers: 6.4, 6.2, 6.2, 6.1, 5.9, 5.6 for top 6. Most of these are outside of the top 10 for total points despite being above any hitter outside of the top 10 in oWAR

Most of those pitchers finished outside of the top 20 for total points. So no, we're not giving too many points to pitchers in general. Hunter Greene finished 77th in total points last year and 3rd amongst all pitchers in total WAR last year.

sure... but fantasy should make hitting and pitching nearly even.... at least in total points...

we start 9 pitchers and 12 offense... i would at least want the average pitcher to score as much as the average hitter... if not a notch more...

What are the default scoring settings on Fantrax and what are the key differences with our settings? Here are the settings from a standard Yahoo public league that I'm in. They don't have holds, which I think is a good thing that we have it in our league. And I do agree with you to give some credit to contact hitters who don't strike out as much.

Yeah, I agree. I just wanted to see what @Stakesarehigh thought about it since he brought up WAR.

I was stating that pitching points, specifically for starters, should not be lowered at all

yahoo is famous for using terrible defaults... not just stats, but in position eligibility...

with that said, i like that they use OUTS and not INNINGS.... i may take that...
