I assume Monty leads the team in carries. And most likely touches too.

I think if that's the case then using the 12th pick on Gibbs was just stupid.
What Bandit said, times infinity.

You just don't use a #1 pick on a RB, and not give the dude 250+ touches. Not unless he's injured or if it turns out that he sucks

They got a better Swift and a younger Jamaal.

I think we would've seen more of Swift last year if he was more durable/healthy. Can't wait to see Gibbs with 75+ receptions in that offense

Yea, that dude should be everything that Jamaal Charles was, but in a modern day pass happy offense. Long as he can make decent hay as a 'normal' runner, which I think he probably can, but do have a slight doubt in that area, he'll be a big time fantasy back.

Obviously the Lions don't have that doubt, or he wouldn't have been picked where he was

150 carries was his max in college. He’s never had 200 touches.

Dude is smaller than Swift. Doesnt even weigh 200 lbs. I don’t see where the projection of 250 touches is coming from personally.

Well for me..
If he can't handle it, like Bandit said, it was a horrible puck. You don't invest like that in a guy if you aren't giving him the ball, ALOT

195 touches in 12 games in college- 16 pergame
250 in 17 games as a pro would be less than 15 per game...

Even if he can handle it it’s a horrible pick. Bijon was a horrible pick imo. These are RBs. You can’t take them that early and expect your team to flourish. (Talking real football. These are clearly the top two picks in rookie dynasty)

First round RBs average like .2 yards per carry more than everyone else who has ever carried the ball.

Well, that may very well be, and an interesting debate to be had there for sure.

But I'd say it's a separate, related, but separate nonetheless, discussion than wether he or Monty get the most touches discussion.

When I heard the Lions say that they would have been comfortable taking him at 6 ahead of Bijon, then they clearly have big plans for him.

An awful lot of convo on our pick. Just remember it's dynasty (and a free league at that). DET made a 1st RD investment in the guy - whether Montgomery gets more carries THIS yr or not, doesn't matter that much, it's long-term that does. Gibbs was clearly the #2 RB on the board, thus why we took him. Time will tell if it turns out that way or not since there could easily be someone in the later rds that excels and makes everyone look dumb - it wouldn't be the first time. We took the shot. ....

Well considering the 3rd pick in this rookie draft was a guy taken 84th in the draft I don't think anybody is thinking that you reached for Gibbs.
