I still don't believe it. The fact that one company got 60 of the 500 tickets that went on sale meant that they paid probably double or triple face value to get their hands on them. And they turned around and already sold 20 of those 80. The article even said tickets were listed for as high as 40,000 but had come down to 11,000 by the time of the article. Still WAY above face value. The fact they gambled on it being even more ridiculously ludicrously overpriced than that just means you can't protect people from stupid.

Plus the article was posted on the second. People probably didn't get to Vegas for the fight until the second. Sure many people bought ahead of time, but I guarantee at least a couple hundred people showed up at the gate willing to pay scalpers whatever. I saw something that said Harry Reid and Mitt Romney wanted to go to the fight together, but couldn't get their hands on tickets.

I just have a hard time believing that article. But thanks for posting it, I thought you must be making things up because it was so counter to everything else I had heard.

Okay so with Floyd being the older fighter...meaning he's further away from is prime than the Pacman. What advantage does this fight happening 5 yrs sooner give Pac ? What advantage did he lose?

Finesse fighters age gracefully more than guys like Manny. PacMan was a better overall fighter 5 years ago.

What were people expecting, another Hagler/Hearns? Mayweather's a defensive fighter and this is how he wins fights. I'm not going to criticize him for not wanting to get punched in the face.

Boxing really needs to rethink how they do this sort of thing. Maybe come up with a world series format with 4 fight tournament of the top 16 in the weight classes. Other guys try to fight their way into the top 16 in other matches. Even the top 10 with a some byes mixed in would be better than this. This would have been a great fight like 5 years ago because Pac would have been moving forward more and May would have had to work. Great matchup between a slugger and a counter puncher. But this was just a couple of guys clearly passed their prime finally cashing in on the "super fight" before they hung them up.
