I wonder if after week 1, this leads to a reunion with the Cardinals for the minimum. Not that we need him, but could be useful as a vet in the rotation at NT.

locker room not happy about dockett being cut.
i'm sure the "locker room" doesn't like most cuts, but that's the NFL. All these players know how it works.
Since Dockett is a newly signed 49er, hard to see him being missed more than others cut? If someone like Gore, Willis, or Justin was cut, then i'd believe the locker room was REALLY dissapointed. But Dockett is new so doesn't have 'long term' friendships with others.
Since he hadn't distinguished himself, this cut seems logical. Now signing him in the first place, and "losing" $2M is another matter.
It looks like a youth movement. One beat reporter thinks Dockett's release means a reserve role and a little more playing time for Armstead.Wow. I was wondering what they would do with the D-line.
He deserves it. had a good preseason. Armstead looks like a nice prospect for us. Seems like he will have a little bigger role now. Also means Purcell is on the team and I love that move. no need for him anymore. all other 5 safety's are better him. We are deep at that position.Dahl just cut. Shocker

Ferrell played both Center and Guard. Silb has some experience at center also. Not great but can't be much worse than LooneyLooney out that means they are taking one of the younger guys. That leaves us with just Martin at center. Strange move in a way. I might be wrong but wasn't Looney the back up center.
