Maryland and Rutgers to the B1G

I know it won't happen, but I would love to go to more geographically correct divisions.

Nebraska, Minn, Iowa, Wisc, Illinois, NW, Indiana

Mich, Mich st, OSU, PSU, Rutgers, Maryland, Purdue

Doubt a whole lot of people outside of Indiana are going to complain about this.

I don't think the B1G is done yet. I wouldn't be suprised if you see a two more besides Maryland and Rutgers. I think this conference will have 16 members before it all said and done.

As far as the money goes I'm all for it. More Money for the Nebraska AD to upgrade facilities, higher top notch coaches and to help with recruiting.

I agree. If BTN can get into just 50% of the homes in those new tv markets, the revenue will be far more than NU could have imagined when they originally joined the B1G.

My Dad had a cousin who lived in Manville NJ, and I remember my family visiting him back in 1972. He took us for a drive one day past a large cast iron gate with a Rutgers sign on top.

That's odd, but I thought there were costs involved with recruiting like traveling costs for example.

Bone Nebraska has to recruit a lot harder then most colleges in the south, Texas and the west coast due to perception of Nebraska and location. The more money the AD can spend in recruting to get the right kids is important.

I believe the B1G will be going south next and I look for them to recruit schools such as VATech and North Carolina. The more the B1G can expand the more Nebraska can grow its brand.

I agree. Some folks think there will be 4 super-conferences in the end- proly PAC, B1G, SEC. and Big XVI+ and those that might parted out - Big East, MW, CUSA, and ACC.

Just listened to Rutgers AD on Big Ten Live. He seems like a pretty sharp guy. I think Delaney made a very very good decision here. They may not be the power house football program (though this may change, they are recruiting to play B1G schools now not Big Least, but they bring tradition, academics and a market that will pay bennies to every school in the B1G.

Their games just got more appealing to the NYC base.

The B1G will bring them along and make them more attractive in their viewing area eventually. This was a long term decision, whereas the Nebraska addition was made to be an immediate impact.

Maryland will be an immediate impact in bball.
