He did and I did not realize his first year as GM in Detroit was the 0-16 season. Cannot pin that on Mayhew. I would still like to hear why Mayhew is a "great fit" with this organization. What makes Mayhew a "great fit" as RR indicates? Give the fan some intel so we can atleast have time to process and absolve. Perhaps we can warm up to the new internal infrastructure since RR & Co really don't realize what this fan base has endured the past 20+ years.

I’m glad Mayhew and Hurney are likeable people who will get along well with RR.

Can they draft well, is what I care most about however.

Its great that Pete Carroll is such a nice guy as a coach. If he sucked at coaching however, he’d be fired quickly.

Get along well, but draft even better from rounds 4-7. Tall order, considering the studs that Kyle Smith drafted in those rounds over the last few years.

here is his work at detroit . he found a few good players late

in san francisco again he found some real gems in

2017 he found 5th rounder Kittle and 5 rounder trent taylor 79 rec career 5th wr and BU tackle DJ jones in round 6 a contributor on the d/line
2018 he found all pro LB fred warner in round 3 and top 100 player for 2019 ., 3rd rounder tavarious moore is a BU safety who contributes and kentaviuos street in round 4 who is a rotational BU
2019 round 5 he drafted starting LB dre greenlaw , and starting OT justin skule in round 6
2020 5thround BU tackle colton mckuity and 6) bu te charlie woerner

these guys are still on the roster

so is it as good as smith ? fairly close

Well to his credit, he did play on that 1991 team that won the SB here and he knows the value in having a great offensive line and a stout defensive front. Although he hasn't yet reproduced those standards elsewhere, perhaps his return to D.C. will refresh his memory about what it took for that team to dominate and he'll set his sights on replicating those things here.
