E.Boni is not the offensive threat Ellis is, give it up. They only reason anyone could conceivably prefer Bonifacio would be to replicate a season where he would be an adequate (atleast in KC compared to the others) leadoff bat. That is literally it. Ellis is better, period.

Ellis will hit 5 hr, 3 sb and bat .265
Boni will hit 3 hr, 30 sb and bat .260 (with all the room he has now)

book it, watch and learn, lol

Even if the offense is equal, Ellis' defense is superior. Even if you roll with a rosy projection for Bonifacio like Steamer seems to have, Ellis' defense would be superior and be a more valuable player overall.

Ok, do you want defense or offense...I guess thats the question to be addressing...if its defense...sure lets go with Ellis...but last year we needed offense and some excitement on offense....once the HR crap ended, they started running and running a lot...the offense looks better with boni and gives us a shot at coming back....if we have ellis, they hit and get in front, forgettabout combacks....especially if we just swap out Beltran and get rid of Butler...

we are great, just great defensively at LF, CF, 3b, ss, 1b and C...you have to give somewhere and have some offensive players there, your not going to get GG at every position who can all hit...just doesn't happen.

Even in Steamer, Ellis' has a higher WRC+ than Bonifacio...

Ellis again, is a better offensive player. He fits better. Bonifacio is only more useful perhaps if his OBP goes back to 2011 E.Boni where he could be a leadoff hitter and dump Gordon down in the lineup where his OPS+ would be better used.
