Looks like the fan momentum has slowed down...

I want to say it's disappointing, but in reality, they're tracking a bit a head of where I expected them to be anyways...

Today's chumpire has been the worst I've ever seen in my life at strikes and balls. From pitch 1 he's been horrible.

This pitching staff is in the toilet right now. The offense just isn't good enough to overcome it. I'm thinking about .500 at the end of the season.

Looks like that early success was nothing but a dream.

So that's what a one run game save looks like.

Figures.

Mariners Baseball: One fucking disappointment after another

Forget what I said before about the moment they go under .500 again; this season is already dead.

really rough patch here, and it's hard to see sliver linings, especially if walker's hurt. who the hell takes his place if he's out?

Easy. Some schmuck they call up who's more than willing to blow leads as soon as we get them, just like all the other useless pitchers on our roster!

I'm optimistic with the future though... Now that Howy is about to be gone, and with a new ownership majority the future can be bright... It's gonna take more time though... M's are not ready for prime time, but they have shown improvement so hopefully they continue in that direction...

Montgomery isn't usable in any mildly high leverage spot. I swear he walks his first batter everything time. I'd say tough loss but it's nothing the last few weeks hasn't seen already.

This team is going to be a disaster for a while. We're old and have nothing as far as pitching goes. Felix is really starting to show the mileage on his arm and Walker is a fucking bust. If they're below 500 at the deadline then they just need to nerf the fucking team and start over because there's just nothing to work with anymore. What a joke.

Where are all the optimistic fans that were calling us out for not believing in this team?

Meh, this team will be in it's typical 10 game+ back comfort zone before the end of this road trip and the second half will be about evaluating talent for next year. Again.

I believe in Dipoto using the next couple of years to build a perennial contender. Certainly more optimistic with his farm building since Nintendo's out, thank god.

A couple of games above .500 is what I was hoping for this year, and I think they'll actually exceed that.

Sorry I missed all the fun last night. I went on a ride-a-long instead and from the sounds of it, I didn't miss anything but an ulcer. I worried in the off season that the bullpen guys we were getting were low budget guys. I thought I was wrong in April about that, but in the end it turns out they are getting what they paid for. Monty is doing in relief what he did as a starter. Good start to season then implosion. SD gave up Vincent for a reason...he is a long relief guy not a back-end guy. Benoit I liked, but not sure of yet. Maybe age or lack of spring games is causing this. Dipoto seems to like 'crafty' relievers and maybe that s why I was skeptical because I like heat coming out of the pen. Unless a guy has Jeff Nelson type movement on a ball, give me a flamethrower.
