ahh yes and one of those veterans just either forgot the out total or read a ball completely wrong. Quality stuff
But, but, but we have all that veteran presence.
I just listened to it on the radio, but does anyone know why Leake was pulled with 78 pitches, did he look tired? This was the first game I've listened to that Rizz all but called out Servais on air.
Nicasio needs to be DFA'd
He was starting to give up hits and was throwing more pitches towards the end. The hits weren't hard, they were just finding holes and our defense didn't help...shocker!
That's what it sounded like from Rizz, but was it bad enough to pull him? If he was only at 78, to me, you let him go. He is your one guy you don't have to worry about innings and sure as hell shouldn't turn to Nicassio...but I don't want him in anything other than mop up time.
I actually didn't have a problem with him being pulled. He was real hittable that and the previous inning. He had 2nd and 3rd with 1 out the previous then struck out the next two batters for his first two K's of the game. I think it mentally drained him and he looked like he was done. I would never go to Nicasio, but that is what we will see from here out in the 7th. It worked in the end...somehow.
Like I said I didn't see it, just curious if anyone else was irked the way Rizz seemed by it. But I seriously cannot fathom that Nicassio is penciled in in any role. Sure he is a big chunk of payroll but they also have a postseason to strive for, which Nicassio hasn't exactly established that he is a guy who can be counted on.
