I know it's the beginning of June, but I think this would have been a really big win if the M's could have nailed it down after taking the lead in the 7th. And the go to guys are Nicasio and Altavilla? I don't get it. The Mariners still haven't proven they can beat Houston outside of Paxton.

I said yesterday this was a freebie, but when it is late in the game and you take the lead and you are the little brother you have to knock their ass out and show them you ain't taking their crap. So I disagree, there is plenty to be mad about. A 3 game lead vs a 1 game lead means a whole lot.

No joke. I thought the starting pitching was going to be our issue....Not the case so far....All that money we spent in the off season to bring in the big dog's in the pen has hurt bad. But we are in 1st

I get so pissed off with a fucking inconsistent pen Why let Nicasio stay in a game when you can see early on he's falling apart. The pen is really letting this team down tonight. It ain't over yet but one things for sure, we didn't get swept in Houston.

I dont disagree with you but my expectation was a split. Probably should win this game too. I’m pissed at the fact that Nicasio should never be used in a close game situation ever again. If you’re going to use him you need to get him out at the first sign of trouble.

I say the same thing about Altavilla. I never wanted Nicasio. I wanted Addison Reed. Reed 2 year, $16.75M Nicasio 2 year, $17M.

It would be nice if they went out and did something against their closer. I mean score a run or two and keep at least acting like a team to be contended with. Bats need to bailout the blowpen here and there if they are going to attempt any kind of second half run.

I guess I'm OK with the loss because I was really only hoping that we could take 1 of the 2 games so I'm not disappointed with this loss but would have been nice to take em' both though.

The one thing I actually agree with baseball nerds (sabermetrics) is the bullpen shouldn't have roles, though I do believe you need to have a defined closer. Just because it is the 7th doesn't mean Nicassio has to pitch it, didn't watch the game but sabermetrics say use Colome over Altavilla

I think that Brady kid had a lot more to do with those championships than the two different kickers they used over the last ten years.

Hawks tied for the 2nd lowest points scored in the first half of games this year with the MVP caliber QB. He is average and only put up good numbers because he did nothing in the first half of games and had to play catch-up every week. Numbers lie for individuals. I put up a stat somewhere else that showed every year he threw more we finished worse. We won with great defense, very good running game, good-plus special teams, and don't-make-a-mistake throwing game.

Again, back to baseball but good talk.

Of course Brady had a lot to do with it, but 3 times there kicker won Super-Bowls right at the end, so there kicker was HUGE for them... Also Wilson has stepped up in the playoffs big time so he’s earned some stripes.... He’s had amazing playoff games so you gotta give Russ some love ... But yeah we’ll get back to baseball... I missed the game tonight, sounds like the bullpen blew it late, wondering who laid the egg ?
