In a way I am relieved they didn’t get Kim. Nothing about him says he currently is anything other than a defensive replacement and pinch runner. While it’d be great for them to actually improve IMO it needs to be offensively not defensively.

Honestly, I don't know. I always pictured them trading Gilbert by this point but getting back like 3 MLB ready players. Say to the cards for Gorman, Walker and Nootbaar or Donovan. Never thought for two expiring vet contracts. I guess if you are going for it, then yes but we are nowhere near going for it.

The reason I like your proposal is it is basically get Arraez for free. A Gilbert/Cease swap is perfectly fine for the M’s. And theoretically since you don’t have to account for their salaries for next year the team could add payroll. Plus they keep the prospects to use them to trade. Really hoping Bregman goes to either the Phillies or Cubs so then Bohm or Hoerner would cost just 1 6-10 range prospect.

I have no problem with the trade other than the loss of years we lose with Gilbert vs the two newbies only being rentals.

I didn't want him as a player, but disappointed in a way that they couldn't sign a freaking foreign guy for low salary. I guess Angels were the highest bidder, but he chose Dodgers. Shocker!

Still think Manfred needs to do something about the Dodgers. You know my feelings on their manipulation of contracts, but just for the health of the sport you can’t have a super team. If it’s homegrown then fine, but if they keep signing everyone then they shouldn’t have any draft picks
