I dont disagree but I would say the bigger impact in creating momentum for New York and the Yankees.

Still, if Rhodes did his job both years the coulda won both pennants. Guy just choked big time in Yankee stadium

There was no way that NY was going to lose after 9/11 with everything they went through and deservingly so. It wasn't rigged, just the world balancing itself out I suppose.

I guess that was follow up. The 2001 team was old and all playing lights out. That time off hurt them but as you said inspired the Yankees to probably playing above their heads like the M’s did for the prior 5-6 months.
