Selfish.
This will make idiot fans happy, and that's who this FO caters to.
like wazzu
Eh can't hurt.
This move is what incompetent Front Offices do. Call up your prized pitching prospect to pitch 20-30 meaningless innings in September.
You have to ask yourself if you're going to call him up now, why not 2 or 3 months ago. He was pitching the same then as he is now. He earned the promotion 2 months ago and Arron Harang sucked just as bad 2 months ago.
Im going to assume that this move was forced by Maurer having to be burned Wednesday because Felix got shelled. I gotta think Maurer was the 1st choice.
Im not sure the answer to this question but does this but this affect his service time?? Because if it does this is an awful move. At most you will see him for 3 starts will no more then 5-6 innings per start.
However at the same time nothing is driving me more crazy then watching Harang and Saunders throw batting practice during a rebuilding year. Personally I would have rather seen Paxton get a shot but oh well.
Incompetent front offices make September (yes, I know it's still August, but it's the 30th, so we're splitting hairs here) call-ups?
