SNIP

Mariners always seem .one guy away..
But maybe.they can ..fix it at.the deadline.
I'm not sure..or optamistic

SNIP

I was really hoping a few months ago we would go after Cody Bellinger after LAD cut ties with him.

He was coming off a down year ( read bargain $ )

He has PROVEN power ( a coveted LH bat )

Veteran presence

HE CAN PLAY 1b ( means we demote the Pillsbury doughboy to a near fulltime DH ) imagine that concept... a designated DESIGNATED hitter !!

he has fared quite well for the Cubbies who nabbed him ( Mariners likely never gave him a look - rather try to catch lightning in a bottle with a no name player )

Not sure how it happened but I think the team is cursed somehow. We all know T Mobile isn’t a hitters park but damn it isn’t like the team under Dipoto has been great on the road either.

Competitive series overall against a very good team, so there's that. 3 o 4 of 4 against Oakland would be nifty.

I posted a couple weeks back. I stumbled across it and immediately saw the curse.

I said several times last year that he didn't seem to like being in Seattle. Maybe you are right and that he just doesn't like baseball anymore. It happens. His lack of strength always puzzled me. He never looked like he had seen a weight before. Not sure how he was an All-Star.
I don't have the article I saw it in, but I do recall one of Divish's articles mentioning - somewhat in passing - that he didn't fit in with the clubhouse. One of the things I think we've done well is building a good culture amongst the players, so that likely speaks a lot about his attitude.

His fall off will always confuse me.

Ya I remember that article as well. He is an odd duck.

I know this sounds weird, but I don't always like a good culture amongst players. It makes it hard for a guy to chew some ass when needed. I like a guy that can ruffle feathers when needed. Not a Milton Bradley type, but a guy that doesn't mind going against the tide.

That literally made me laugh out loud.
Obviously it’s a joke but also can’t hurt either. Pitchers couldn’t pitch in the Kingdome and since TMobile is built on the site that was zoned for the Sonics there very well could be a curse. So a symbolic sacrifice could work
