Like a lot of us said last year, good time to deal him. I just didn't see progress over the last few years and now he has zero trade value. M's always seem to suck the trade value out of players. Like I have posted several times before; 'It is best to trade a player a year too early vs traded him a year too late'. M's seem to do this is reverse.

Like we did with Adam Jones?

From what I could tell by my very quick search, Walker has the worst ERA of any "starter" with over 30 IP.

Contending!
Walker is garbage........ Blowpen doesn't help......

What we are seeing from Walker this season is complete trash. He is to good to suck this bad right? Here is the question does it makes sense to send Walker to AAA? If so who replaces him? Or because there isn't anyone to replace him that is why sending him to AAA doesn't make sense? The SP depth is just shit.

There's no one in AAA really. Montgomery maybe but that probably isn't even a lateral move. We just are gonna have to sit back and watch the fun.

Exactly. Kind of a tough spot for a team to be in.

Possible other options in Tacoma would require a 40 man roster move.

I guess Upton for Walker, Franklin, Pryor, Furbush doesn't look so ridiculous anymore huh.

Nor does the trade to Atlanta for Upton that revolved around Upton for Walker and Ackley.

Perhaps I'm just an idiot, but watching Walker pitch, I don't see why he's so highly touted.

Sure, his command is off, but it's not like his stuff is even that impressive. When Paxton struggled, he was still fun to watch because you could see he had really good stuff, it was just the control that was off. Walker's pitches are not as good as Paxton and he couldn't hit the water if he was falling out of a boat.

Wasn't it mostly because he had a consistent 97 mph fastball, a good change up and his athletiscm was off the charts? I know seeing the two in AAA Walker had the raw but wow factor while Paxton was like a 10 year pro pitching in spring training.

Yep. Raw potential which can get you a Trout or get you a Walker like in this case. He is still young, but I would have still dealt him couple years back before he proved himself unpolished.

I read an article the other day that stated other GM's and scouts believed he would never control his wildness or develop a 2nd out pitch. They are rate so far.

3-0... The most dangerous lead for the Mariners. Actually scratch that all leads are dangerous when it comes to the Mariners.

You just know with Rodney out there that the tying run will come to the plate at some point.
