I remember when CBS Fraudkee* fans were convinced that he was suck a hot prospect that they could trade him straight up to the Marlins for Mike Lowell.

He was an improvement over Devin Mesoraco at the time...

Baseball trades are weird, JD. Cliff Lee is expensive and owed a lot more money. So, his status as an "elite pitcher" is offset somewhat by the dollars he is owed. Most teams don't want to inherit a $20M+/year player AND give up good prospects.
