Almost zero upsets. In 16 games the only “upsets” were a 10, an 11, and a 12 winning and those aren’t really “madness”

Booooring

With all the transfer portal activity year to year, I don't know if you'll see as many upsets. Greener pastures handicap those underdogs a bit more than previously.

See to me it's the opposite...the portal has created parity, now it's different teams than the usual ones getting top seeds (that's actually an improvement) but the gaps between the better and weaker teams is less, so now 16s sometimes beat 1s and 15s and 14s and 13s get wins more often...just not so far this year, so it's boring.

I think it's eliminated the surprises at tournament time. The surprises are in the regular season when new teams are rising in the rankings.

Maybe it's more of a factor thus far in football than hoops. The big football teams lure away emerging stars from smaller schools consistently.

First time in years I didn’t take off at least one of these days and I love that decision. Wasn’t worth it

This tournament stinks.

Hopefully a shitty first 2 days means a really fun sweet 16/elite 8

Some good games today. Maryland/Colorado State went down to a last second buzzer beater, Oregon looked like they were going to boatrace Arizona, but Arizona has come all the way back to take a lead. Florida/UConn was a good one too.

Yeah finally a buzzer beater but man so much chalk. Sweet 16 with only one double digit seed (and just a 10), two 6s and that’s it for “upsets”

It sets up for a fun sweet 16 though
A fair point, no cinderellas so lots of potentially good matchups

So here's how I think NIL could be part of this...before when low seeds would upset 2s and 3s the idea was the big time programs had a lot of one and done players, or two and done, and didn't have cohesion playing together for years where a mid major could have 4 seniors or whatever. So upsets could happen more often.

Now everyone jumps around even from mid majors (say to jump to bigger programs) so the teams with more talent no longer have that disadvantage. Just a thought.

Looking at this tourney coming in i saw it as pretty chalky. Just felt like the top was very clear.

Dan Hurley catching a lot of grief over his post-game behavior. Dude needs to chill.

If I'm Baylor's head coach, I'm pissed at him for putting that "refs fucked us" shit in my players heads as they're waiting to take the court for their game.

He's catching it on NBA twitter...lol

They came in wanting to make it a half court game, muck it up and slow down Florida and they had what?? 2 more fouls on them before the end of game stuff? Might only have been 1. It was a great gameplan but dont complain that the refs dont let you fistfight your way past a 1 seed. UCONN wasnt great from outside, that was the difference
