Which stupidly will just keep it in the news cycle as people keep digging for the truth.

If everyone were to come out and say "yes, it was a lie. It started out as innocent fun, then the media picked it up and I didn't deny it. I kept it going and then to end it I felt I had no choice but to 'kill her off'. So I did and I apologize for anyone hurt by this."

Then promise to make some donation to the leukemia and lymphoma society and put it behind you.

grand jury indictment for fraud! He benefitted by receiving media exosure and awards he otherwise wouldnt have gotten. Bama won the National Championship, and Bamas LB CJ Mosely had almost identical stats with far less playing time...yet he got NO media attention or awards. Put his ass in jail, and find a way to implicate ND and his dad for participating!!

I doubt grand jury stuff but he and ND definitely benefited from sympathy and added exposure. The media loves a feel good ND story.

One quote even said that Brian said that they had never met her but they wanted to because they thought she might become their daughter-in-law and now they would never get the chance to. This was shortly after she "died."

Is it fraud if he never solicited or obtained money or benefits? If the story spurred people to donate, then is that still fraud?

Weren't his parents suspicious. If I told them about a girl I was dating in college, and she flew all the way to my home state and I didn't bring her around to meet the parents...they would probably be put off and question what I'm up to.

After I posted these pics, the only thing that I found associated with Te'oing was on Urban Dictionary, and now suddenly people are posting pics similar to the ones I posted above. Even the same 1st pic was used.
