Hope he gets another ring this season, the guy's still got some fire … I think Elway pulled off a great deal, landing a 3rd and a 4th rounder .. We now have three 3rd round picks in 2020 ..

One thing I am going to miss on top of what was said above is his honesty. Sanders would always tell you the way he saw things. Von gives a lot of coach speak, but Sanders always seemed to tell it like it is.

Greatly appreciate everything he did for the Broncos and the effort. Good luck the rest of this year and future seasons.

I don't think this is a fire sale. I think this one was pretty much a slam dunk. Sanders wasn't coming back... How dumb would we be to not trade him???? Sanders grew tired of losing. Only reason he was here this year without requesting a trade this offseason was because he was getting paid 13 mil with his option picked up. At that point he was like screw it, ill do this one more year for that mark!

I respect the guy. For a guy who knew he was never coming back after this year he gave it his all on the field.

Tad surprised by these trades

Lions traded Quadre Diggs for a 5th rounder. Hurt much of this year he had been playing pretty well over the years and is under contract.

Raiders traded away first rd pick from two years ago Gareon Conley to the Texans for a 3rd round pick (Texans and Rams tend to trade away a lot of picks going hard after it) Conley had been playing pretty well.

Elway was quoted as saying that Sanders requested the trade and they agreed to make it happen. He also said that he wasn't sure if there would be more trades but was open to it. However, Elway still contends that the team is about winning games now and not conducting a fire sale. Broncos have 7 picks in the first four rounds of next year's draft.

We have to look at it from Elway's side. It's just like when people accuse a team of tanking... Players and coaches don't tank. It is their job that is on the line.. As a player you don't tank because you are tanking for a guy who could likely be coming for you job. Makes no sense from a players or coaches side...

From Elway's side as a GM in the situation he is in now with everyone on his nutsack he isn't going to tank a season. He can't afford it. His seat is already burning with flames and his rear end is about to get thrown off! He can't afford to call anything a fire sale and tell fans we are going to rebuild. They don't want to hear that. We have been losing for 4 years now.... We obviously failed at rebuilding this. People don't wanna hear re-build when we have been a losing team for 4 years now. He knows people are only going to relax if he starts winning games, so his focus has to be at winning right now.

We all know we need to rebuild but he has to try and win football games because his job depends on it.

We want people that want to get it right with us. We want people who want to be Broncos. We have a really good roster of young players. We get (outside linebacker Bradley) Chubb back next year.

Von still seems all in on the Broncos based on this quote, but I get he is frustrated. Need another performance or 2 where the rest of the defense is getting after the QB so offenses can't concentrate on Von.
