A fool and his money are soon parted.

That just made the St Louise win even better for me.

Guys make some decent and consistent cash betting long odd money lines, but you have the capital to do it. It stings when you lose, but that's defenitely the exception. The reason why they pay out such a small % is because the books obviously don't want bettors to take those bets.

well, yeah, I get it, I understand the mechanics of it all. I just don't necessarily agree with it. it's one thing if it's a long-term investment in some sort of mutual fund, but for it to be a single, individual bet on a sporting event? naaaahh....

But, like you said, you have to have the capital; I suppose if my checking count said $20 mil+, I probably wouldn't be THAT torn up about losing $165k. It'd still suck, though

The Rams went 2-4 against the NFC West last year and hadn't won in Seattle since 2004.

The better thing to note is that a lot of players on the Rams defense are in contract years and are playing harder than a normal sub .500 team should.

Did they go 2-4 against the spread or are just referring to the final score?

Final score. No idea about spread except that the underdog has won more often than not with the Rams this year I do believe.

I don't often bet games but I tend to stay away from divisional match ups.

Let me guess... You bet on STL to win?

I did pick the Rams in the pick ems on this site but those always have the points. I did not make any V cash bets this last week as I did not take the time to look over the spreads or pick winners as things in life were busy. I have done ok with the Vcash and even won 1000 vcash a few weeks back winning the pick ems with an almost exact tie breaker score.

You didnt have to take the points with Vcash you could have just chosen the Seahawks to win like this guy if you had wanted using your vcash
I bet 5000 vcash on the Steelers vs Baltimore playing a with a backup qb and numerous key players out. Glad is was vcash. Oy vey!

Betting $165k to win $15k on a division game is simply stupid.

I never bet on anything.

The quickest way for a lead pipe cinch to not be is for me to put money down on it.

I bet the NFL playoffs every year. $200 budget and I start with $50 on each wild card game. If I go through the $200, I stop. Last year was the first year I made it to the SB, and I bet all my winnings and the budget - two bets, two teasers, the Pats and the over and the Pats and the under. Fucking killed it and won both.

That was an exciting day/game.

If I did bet it would be straight up.

If you can't win straight up you shouldn't be bet upon.

I'd take my $200 and buy some import beers....

To actually answer the OP'S question, no, this bet isn't dumber than deferring an overtime kickoff. This is just an "any given Sunday" scenario. Bellichick thought he was more clever than he actually is and the Jets made him pay for it.

I'm sorry, but that bet is Floyd Mayweather stupid. Maybe it was Floyd that made it. Division rival that always plays them tough with that kind of return? I wouldn't have taken anything less than 70 cents on the dollar.
