I'm not sure if Mallett is tradable because his ability to be a starting NFL QB is questionable at best.

How many were ready to castrate Cassel because of his preseason follies?
While there were alot of pissed off Pats fans, I do assume that none of you nostramuthafukindamus's complained, cause, ya'll knew he'd win 11 gmes.

I was one. He was horrible in mop up duty and pre-season. I thought for sure he'd be cut in 08. I also thought the Pats would of had a top 5 pick when Brady went down. No one saw Cassel winning 11 games...even with all that O talent. Cassel was what, a 7th round pick? He hasn't done squat since leaving here but travel from team to team. Mallet is a 3rd pick with supposed 1st round talent. He played like shit last night.

Also, neither Cassel or Mallet did what Garoppolo did last night.

Mallett was horruble. He looked absolutely lost. He had no connection with his receivers at all. He was what 5/13 for 54 yards. He has no self confidence when he's put in a pressure situation. The guy has a cannon arm, but a tomato can head.

Garappolo on the other hand looked like he was ready to give Brady something to think about. Three steps and unleash the ball. Confident and poised. Seemed ready to move if the pressure came at him. He looked very good.

Belichick will give Mallett another shot against the Eagles on Friday. If he implodes again, he'll be cut because he won't have any trade value. Grappolo will also get another go and if he performs like last night he'll stick.

Very true.

Let me ask this....if Garoppolo continues to out play Mallet....do we keep three QB's on the roster?

I'd say no, but I am not a cap guru.
Depends on how it affects the team as a whole and what any implications are if he is cut.

I think they could, but for this season only.

Absolutely,

We drafted Garapolo because he can be an NFL QB. Who knows how good he might be if we let him develop. We keep Mallett because he will be able to play now. If a QB goes down, We will get offers for Mallett. We do not want to be premature with Garapolo. Do you really think BB wants a rookie QB? Let him learn from Brady and develop. Mallett is cheap insurance (this year) and trade bait as the year goes on.....

The way mallet played ,the best that that they could do would let him play out & get 7th rd compensatory pick.

Belichick is not going to keep Mallett if he doesn't improve on his play against the Redskins. Think about it for 10 seconds and then answer. Do you keep a QB who you can't trust to play in a real game so you can get a 7th round compensatory draft pick or do you keep a 6'2" 245 lb LB who can play just on special teams but prevent the returner from getting more than 10 yards a return? Or keeping a 5'10" kick returner who can't do anything else?

I keep a player who can play somewhere and do something to benefit the team. Screw the draft pick.

Exactly my thinking. You don't keep Mallet when you can keep someone else. Especially since Mallet is gone after this year anyway. When you can keep some else for years more.

Moore, Butler, Tyms....etc
