We watched Tim Lincecum quickly fall off a cliff. He was a dominant pitcher that became mediocre after losing a couple of MPHs off of his fastball.

Doesn't help that Lincecum wasn't a great command pitcher. Even in his peak, he only had one season with a walk rate below 3.0 BB/9.

its actually Kershaw's call but who else will really pay that much, his teams are very limited.

Mady isn't tied to that kind of money, much more deal friendly.

IF the Giants trade him, it won’t be because they are trying to save the 12M he is owed in ‘18. It will be because they don’t want to pay him the 100M+ it will require to resign him. If ‘Shaw opts out, he will be looking for basically anything more than 70M.

agree, that's why it would be easier to trade Mad for a better return. in the off season or next trade deadline, while he still has a great value deal before it blows up.

Kershaw proving again tonight he's no Bumgarner.

MadBum won them that last series almost single handedly.

Kershaw about to lose this series for LA.

Has Kershaw made his last pitch in a Dodgers uniform?

There will be many teams who are willing to pay more than $70M to Kershaw. Maybe not $35M per year, but certainly a larger sum with a longer contract. Last season Darvish signed for 6/$126M and he is no where near Kershaw's caliber and just came off a much worse World Series performance in 2017.

You're right, Kershaw's a future HOFer and Bum isn't.

Has Felix pitched in the postseason yet?

What does that have to do with this thread?

Kershaw has obviously been better than Bumgarner throughout their careers, but in the postseason, give me MadBum every time.

Having had like 26 starts we are looking at a pretty major pattern of him being at best a mediocre postseason guy. There has to be something.mental with it

The super analytical guys want to tell you there's no such thing as clutch, but in the postseason, you're gonna struggle if you're not mentally tough, even if you're a HOF pitcher.
