More facts for the misinformed......according to Ohio State insiders several assistant coaches like Fickell were doing all the work behind the scenes that Tressel was given credit. Tressel was merely a figure head. Fickell was an assistant coach at Ohio State for 9 years involved behind the scenes and given little, if no credit at all. He did alot of hard work and deserves the position of interim head coach. He was a former player and defensive standout for the Ohio State. As far as calling him a coordinator, that is a misconception of the role he has actually played at OSU. His role was much greater.

You are nothing more than a blowhard, who knows little if anything about Ohio State football. You would be wise in the future to keep your incompetent mouth shut.

You can call Tressel a figurehead all you want. That's fine by me, I really don't care.

But you keep avoiding the fact that nearly every major program hires a known commodity for a HC, for a LONG list of very valid reasons.

You would be wise to stop posting complete ignorance if you can't even concede this very FACT.

Very few boosters are going to support an unknown guy over someone with a long history of winning at the highest level. That's just common sense, something you apparently lack.

What exactly do you have to do with Ohio State? Are you an alumni? When did you attend Ohio State?

Like I said Tressel did not do well in his first season. He didn't even beat Michigan. Fickell has a chance to show he is better.

Tressel didn't have a good first seaso, but he did beat Michigan 26-20 at Michigan.

I have yet to see a major program choose the in house guy over a proven winner. I highly doubt tOSU goes that route, but I guess we'll all see soon enough.

and by the way, a business associate of mine that seems to always know what is going on in the ohio state program before i hear it anywhere else just told me urban meyer sounds like a done deal, 8 mil per year and announcement coming at end of season. take it for what its worth.

Just out of curiosity, since some of you guys have all the sources and stuff......you guys STILL want to hire Luke Fickell, or are you still dumb enough to think a man with no HC experience is the right guy to take the helm of a program the size of tOSU?

Or have you all come to your senses and realized you need a proven winner to run the program?
