I'm just here to troll everyone
This may have already been discussed but that kid has future MVP written all over him. And maybe not that far in the future...
At this point I'd worry more about Jose Ramirez, who's hitting .480 with 14 ribs. He'll likely be named the first AL player of the week.I thought it was going to be this season. However, Vlad Jr. is currently swinging the bat like Barry Bonds on steroids. So... I'm a bit worried about that prediction.
Well, for player of the week. Sure. However, I disagree on MVP. Vlad would have won MVP in most any normal season last year. Led the league in pretty much everything except for average (still hit .311) and fell just short in RBI's. The problem was that Ohtani finally stayed healthy and made a splash as the 2nd coming of Babe Ruth.At this point I'd worry more about Jose Ramirez, who's hitting .480 with 14 ribs. Never said Ramirez will be the MVP. In fact, between these two, if I was a betting man, I'd almost undoubtedly put my money on Vlad. But early on Ramirez is carrying the hottest bat in the majors, and his career stats confirm his numbers are no fluke. When this season comes to a close, he could very well be in the hunt for the trophy.Well, for player of the week. Sure. However, I disagree on MVP. Jose Ramirez is damn good, but we pretty much know what he is. He's never put up numbers like Vlad did last year. To think Vlad is only entering his prime at 23 is horrifying. A full season in the tiny Rogers Centre now? Oof. He's going to hit 50 plus for sure and probably over .300 with around a .1000 OPS again. If healthy, obviously.
