Luck's Bye Week

Luck has a bye week of week 10. I have two options at this point. I can roll with Foles against the Panthers on MNF. Or I can grab Alex Smith off the wire who plays the Bills week 10. Over thinking it or a good idea? Would drop a extra IDP for Smith.

I am using the Bills as my main DST in some leagues.

Can you grab Palmer? I don't have the schedule in front of me but I seem to recall that the Cardinals have a good passing matchup that week.

I'd rather start Bortles vs the Cowboys, or Flacco vs the Titans, or Glennon against the Falcons, all are likely to be available, all have better matchups than Smith against the Bills, and all would be better plays than Smith regardless of matchups..IMHO

Palmer against the Rams might not be bad, but no promises that he'll even play then..you never know with a nerve issue..ask Manning

He won't get much..but given the amount of decent starting options that will likely be available on the wire heading into Luck's bye week, I'd say thats a decent plan.

But, to the OP..don't forget, week 10 is also Rivers bye week, along with Cousins and Brady who may or may not be being used as starters in your league..there will be some competition for those guys on the wire, grab the one you want in week 9, or earlier

Yeah no one is really looking for a QB at this point. I tried to engage the Hoyer/Manziel owner but he was not interested. Everyone else is paired off like this.. Though I have been informed by the commish that Foles blows so sure he would be annoyed if I get something good for him lol.

Lol. Well if the Hoyer/Manziel owner won't trade for him, your stuck with him. And with Glennon and Flacco already rostered, I think you're best bet is with Foles. Guys in your league are little greedy when it comes to QB's... way too many have 3, when its questionable in many cases whether you should carry more than one

Ask around because if you find an eagles fan, you might get something good.

Yeah everyone gets to keep 30 so I guess they want to hoard . The last time a QB got moved it was RG3 and he went for Flacco and a 3rd round rookie pick in 14. I have had Foles on the block going on 5 months now. Think i'm just stuck with him being Luck's backup. I think the problem is i'm the Eagles fan .

I don't see a team, outside of the Browns fan, where I would consider Foles an upgrade. Can't hurt to try of course, but pretty slim odds in my opinion.

Yeah he's okay with sitting around until Johnny Football. His team is not a contender so can't blame him. I tried to go after Watkins or Ellington before. But they were untouchable. That's the only two players off his roster that I could use.

Maybe he hasn't asked the commish, that guy seems to be the authority on blowing and sucking

Keep your options open. Austin Davis vs ARI. Vick vs PIT. Glennon vs ATL. Orton vs KC. You never know what might pan out in the next few weeks.

Has the Panthers D been a big deal? Play Foles. Keep him on your team as an 'injury' back-up to Luck. Win the title man, You ARE overthinking this.
