Hopefully we get Beachum. Beachum was playing really well before his injury. I wouldn't mind taking a shot on him. We gotta get SOMEONE here lol.

Course signing Ryan to $10M.... facepalm. Punters grow on trees and Seattle wasn't exactly shattering the punts last season. Eh whatever.

?

Ryan averaged 45.5 yards per punt, had 24 inside the 20 and only had 29 returned. He owns the top 5 YPP in team history (last year's was 5th) and he has allowed us to play the field position game for years. If he gives us 4 more years like the 8 he's already given us - then it's money well spent.

No hopefully we get Okung, Beachum would be the risky fall back.

Oh I hope so too, man. I just think he's gone. He's visiting with quite a few teams now. Maybe nobody will pony up the price he must be asking and he'll come back.

Just thinking of a fall back. Beachum is already scheduled to visit us... hence why I bring it up.

Actually Okung is quiet involved here locally in various things. I think he'd love to be back, but not at a big discount. What we have here is a dance, Okung is visiting teams, Seahawks are entertaining possible replacements for him. I think Okung went in this thinking he was a hot commodity, after all he's a LT and a good one. I'm sure he discounted the fact that he's missed games due to injuries. I'm sure he has discounted all the moving to soon penalties, but he's finding out the market doesn't ( OK that's actually my hope ). The fact that no team busted out with a offer is telling. Oh he's in for a visit you say, I'm sure he's hearing a sales pitch that starts out with...."we would like to offer you a contract that will reward you for good play" aka a incentive base contract, not what he had in mind I'm sure. The longer this goes on, the more sure I am that he'll be back. I think what ever "strong offer" the Seahawks made him will sound much better as time passes and he hears these offers that sound like teams are scared of him being a bust. It's a risk for the Seahawks also, but less so then going with someone fresh off a ACL or some 34 year player who really wasn't all that even when young, or drafting the 6th LT in the draft with your first pick.

Harold i believe Conklin, Decker or Spriggs will be there for the Hawks. If they lost Okung they have some good options to go with with the #26th pick. Tunsil and Stanley will be gone but one of those 3 i listed will be there for the picking.

I believe they need to go OT in the first round anyway even if Okung resigns. Then go DT in the 2nd.

I dont see us passing on a stud DL for an OT if the DL is higher on our draft board regardless of our need. I would love to get nkemdiche if he fell to use, for instance.

I would agree on that.

Seahawk really value a DL, so it would be hard to pass over a DL that they have rated highly, which is another reason signing Okung would be a good idea.

thing is the talent of the DL that you see go in the first will not be much better than the DL talent out there in the 2nd round. DEEP DEEP class at DL this season. They say one of the deepest in the past 10 to 20 years. If they have a 1st round OT on the board and a 1st round DL on the board they will or SHOULD take the OT as there will be first round DL talent going in the 2nd AND the 3rd.

Hands down the BIGGEST need on this team is Offensive line. No if ands or BUTs about it and if Decker, Spriggs or Conklin is left on the board you have to take one of those 1st round talent OT over a DT because after those guys the talent at Oline vanishes. DL not so much, high level talent will still be on the board late in the 2nd round just because of how DEEP it is. Great draft for finding DL help.

With the way the Hawks rotate players all we need is a 2 down stud and that can be found in the 2nd, 3rd and even the 4th ( we are talking a 2 down player, thats all mebane was )

But lets not forget that our pass rush really wasn't all that strong last season. Tied for 17th in Sacks last season and they lost their 3rd best pass rusher in Irvin so maybe they go DE. Seems like when we needed to get Pressure early in the season we could not get any and we ended up losing games because of it.

if all things are equal, take the OT. but if a highly rated player falls because of off field issues like nkemdiche you take him immediately.

Agreed! Good punters like Ryan can change the dynamic of the game. The last thing you want is some crappy punter on the cheap botching kicks with the game on the line.

Just read that he's had his visit with the Lions and is now headed to Pittsburg to visit the Steelers.
Just checked, the Steelers have 3 million in cap space. I'm sure they can make cuts, but won't seem like they could make a huge offer.

Thinking about this and Okung must not have found a offer he really likes, because he's still searching.

Starting to get my hopes up that Clayton was closer to the mark then I thought. Won't it be sweet to get Okung back at a cheap price?:hope:

It would be nice. I'm shocked he left Det without a contract. I read their o-line is far worse then ours.

Would Seahawks trade for Jaguars' Luke Joeckel?

Interesting idea. Not sure how much is based in reality, but interesting.
Saw that. I don't see a trade happening, because nobody would want to pick up his option, way to expensive. However I do see the Jags letting his contract play out and letting him be a FA next year, then maybe the Seahawks take a shot. Their are some other OTs that were high draft picks that may be available soon, Eric Fisher for example.:suds:

It's being reported that Seattle has shown some interest in signing recently released LT Eugene Monroe.
