I'd say they're probably about as good as a Northwestern or Ole Miss this season. Still a really good team, but top 10 is a major stretch.

I would take NW on the money line without a second thought given.

Louisville is currently up 463 to 212 yards on Rutgers, a team that always plays them tough. That is what I would expect of a top ten team.

I didn't realize how bad their schedule was until they showed it tonight. My God... And yes I know I'm beating a dead horse. I don't know if they're really a top 10 team, but they don't have to worry about falling out.

Top tier ACC next year.

And fuck that, they would hand Ole Miss an ass kicking of epic proportions.

their schedule isn't as strong as should be, but neither is Alabama's.

They would beat the crap out of Nortwestern. Ohio State would be a good test. If Ole Miss brings their A-game, they could hang with top ten teams, including Louisville. But Ole Miss has been too hot and cold this season

Please. Half the country averages like 450 yards per game. At home, at night, against a team with the 72nd ranked defense in the country... a lot more is to be expected from a top 10 team.

The schedule is what it is. Nothing they can do about it.

I'm saying this team does not look like a top 10 team at all right now.

Northwestern has no D. They are allowing 27.0 points per game and 431.4 yards per game (#88 in nation). Iowa, by contrast is only allowing 290.0 yards per game. Louisville was only allowing 227.4 yards per game coming into today (#3 in nation) and today Louisville held Rutgers to 240 yards

Well clearly Louisville is going to have a gaudy D ranking. They've played absolutely nobody.

The defense is pretty good, but Northwestern would hang 40 on them.

Full disclosure - I don't want to come off as a hater. It's just that after seeing Bridgewater and Louisville highlights and hearing about them beating up Florida last year, I was excited to get a chance to watch a full game of theirs today. In the end, my only conclusion is that this team either had a totally off night or just is not as good as their #8 ranking. On a neutral field I'm not sure they'd be favored over more than a couple top 25 teams, right now.

they put up 461 yards on Rutgers today. only 37 of 125 teams are averaging that...the top 30 percent. And Louisville was averaging 514 yards coming into today. you do realize VT outgained Bama 212 yards to 206 and Bama is ranked #1, right?

I think you're actually proving my point that the yardage stats really don't matter..

There isn't a D in college football that Bridgewater couldn't pick apart at will. Florida? Yea, we've seen that show already.

The Louisville D gets very little credit but they're keeping people out of the end zone nearly as well as anyone.

NW has played a better schedule to date.

The Louisville D was #1/#3 in the nation coming into today and they held Rutgers to 240 yards (only 2 of the 125 teams are averaging less than 240 yards of offense)

Nortwestern played Maine, Western Michigan, a horrible Cal team that lost all five games badly ( Lost 44-30, Lost 52-34, Lost 55-16, Lost 44-22) except to Portland State Vikings, and 2-3 Cuse and an OSU that plays nobody
