You can only use the bad ownership excuse so many times, though. This is the second time a team has failed in Atlanta. The problem isn't that they don't have diehard fans in Atlanta, they just don't have enough diehard fans along with casual fans interested in attending hockey games.

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice... don't get fooled again!

I would think the NHL has learned it's lesson on putting NHL teams in Atlanta. Consequently, they are currently setting up an exploratory committee to place two new expansion teams in Atlanta next year so that half a decade down the road they can make $120 million in relocation fees.

How fast you think that 13,000 number will be hit. I say about a week

one thing i will agree with that windbag Damien Cox about ... Glendale and Atlanta never had the conditions on ticket sales that winnipeg has right now

3 weeks to sell people on 3 year ticket committments ... thats rough

double standard

'It doesn't work if the building isn't full every night.' - G Bettman

Yup and then there's this...

The cheapest season ticket is almost twice what the cheapest Flames season ticket currently goes for.

When you add on 3-5 year terms, that's quite the investment. Gary is definitely playing hardball.

That really is rough. I think they'll do it (heck, I think some rich people will probably scoop up a ton just to inflate the numbers), but when you look at how those floundering franchises are allowed to be a pit fall of money, now if they don't sell out every night HERE they're a liability?

doesnt look like they are selling half or quarter pack season tickets

if they struggle these most definitely will be offered for sale when they close in on the BOG vote

What do teams like PIT, WASH, CHI average on full season ticket plans sold? I know a LOT of people with half or quarter packs, but not a lot with full. I'm not sure that even teams like TOR or MON average that high in full season (especially with a 3 year commitment).

Vancouver caps total full season ticket equivalents to 17000

the 3 year committment is the minimum for winnipeg season ticket buyers

you almost wonder whether the NHL wants them to get at least 3 years worth of payment up front so they can put that money in a big old pot and hedge the currency

Well, there's a certain team in the desert that continues to bleed money, there's no chance that they could extract money from the big old pot, is there?

i think for their $60 million relocation fee, Winnipeg should be awarded Jonathan Toews
