i'm gonna assume most are going to say yes, but knowing all that this team went through this year, and you can go back to last july, if you had the choice to let kovy go to another team, or resign him to the EXACT same contract which would you choose?

i'd keep him, i was in favor of the deal from day one, and even at his most trying points of the season i did not see him as the root of the problem, but hey, thats just me.

For sure I would sign him... You can't argue with his talent, the dude is a game changer and I'm happy to have him

Who would we have instead of him? and as I've said before, I don't care if Ilya's here as long as Devils management has the actual real dollars, NOT CAP HIT, to sign Parise.

In hindsight, absolutely. The more I think about it the more I realize you need 2 superstars in todays NHL to win. My theory use to be you could get 2 quality players for a superstars salary, and over the long run that depth may help you win more games than one player will. But, come playoff time you need a player that can step up and steal a game. We have 2, assuming Parise comes back and is on his game.

Yeah absolute def loved the signing then and now and even in 14 years. Imagine this team without him.this year? Dead last MAClean would still be coach and the rock would've had 5000 at every game

Still on the get rid of him side of things, probably always will be too. Do I think he was the problem? No...but he showed he wasnt a leader (yet) and I still think it was just too much for one person.....unless you're #9 and your name is Parise

I completely disagree. Kovy put this team on his shoulders during the run we had in the second half. The guy was electrifying and the constant the KO-VY chants by the crowd show that he's not just another guy on the team. When the team needed a boost he was the guy they looked to. That to me equals leader.
