we'd have to trade our entire drafts in 2013 and 2014 along with our 2015 1st and 2nd rounders to get the 1st pick in '13.

don't see it as realistic, but considering most of our key players are fairly young i think we could survive even after losing all those picks.

Exactly for who?

Good teams don't do that. Good teams can stack draft picks. Loon how pats did it.

The Falcons did it.

And with out window to win clearly wide open right now, how much are we getting out of our 2012 draft class? If we could move up and get a legitimate Pro Bowl player that can contribute as a rookie, or should we just keep deactivating our rookies every week next year too?

At this point we should be looking more for quality than quantity. No way should we be coming out of the 2013 draft with 11 players. I'd want nothing more than 6.

I'd give my # 1 and our 3s this year to trade back with another team for their 1st and 2nd in 2014.

In 2014 I'd pull a Mike Ditka and trade everything to acquire Jadeveon Clowney.

ideally alex keeps it up and we forget about going for another qb. if we have a chance to move up i wouldn't be opposed to it for the right player, like in the mid teens. or even moving up into the mid 2nd for the right player.

That's why I'd want a trade up for an impact player like Hankins, Allen, Hunter... maybe a QB even.

I'd be okay to trade up this year, but I'm thinking for 2014 instead. If we stay at our current spot, we would still get a player just as big as a game changer (Patterson per se) as Allen or Hunter. Why trade up for them when you can get Patterson? I'd trade up for a QB like Barkley but other than that, I'm chillin at our current spot at 32.

Giants didn't panic and came away with Wilson and Randle. The year before that the Packs got Cobb.

In 2014 I see a real reason to move up (Watkins, Clowney). I'd pull a Washington Redskins or a Mike Ditka for the rights of Clowney.

With all due respect I think trading up for Clowney a 3-4 would be a waste, I agree with Watkins though.

At the same time though, i think this thread raised an interesting topic. It had me look at our roster and I noticed that Ice is a ufa next season.
Isaac Sopoaga Contract, Salaries, and Transactions

I think this makes a major move be very much in play for the likes of Hankins or Lotulelei. Putting together a Falcons type of package to draft a pro bowl caliber nt that fits Fangio's scheme wouldn't be a bad idea at all.

I wouldn't mind trading UP this year. Even a couple of times. There are some impact players that I think would be perfect for the 49ers both short and long-term. I don't think we should worry about the 2014 draft at this point. '13 is developing nicely, IMO.

I'm pretty sure you could get me to sign-off on whatever it takes to get Hunter in a Niner uni. Not that I'm biased or anything. :)

No it wouldn't. He would transform our defense for the next 12 years. He and Aldon would be unfair. Not sure who in their right mind wouldn't want a Clowney / Smith combo?! Now that's retarded!

@EKmane, No it wouldn't be a waste!! If you look at the past 10 years, Clowney is in the top -5 five prospect to come out of the college ranks. He's up there with Calvin, Luck, Fitz, Peppers, both Petersons, etc. He's that good!? How would he be a waste of a pick if he were to play in a 3-4? Please explain. I am baffled by that comment.
