tsk tsk. not QUITE the result that D12 was envisioning when his bitch ass left the Lakers, eh...?

i'm sure there are plenty of Lakers fans that feel bad for this poor fellow...somewhere...

I never wanted that bitch to begin with. He won't ever win a championship.

I agree RoboticDreams. The term overrated comes to mind. I watched the closing minutes of last night's contest and there was Dwight Howard missing free throws as usual and shrugging it all off as usal. He did nothing to helping his team win but when it counted the most, he only contributed to the loss. He'll never win a championship because of his attitude and that has always been this guy's MO.

When we look back in 15/20 years time and discuss all-time great big men, Dwight Howards name won't even come up.

And the funny thing is the rockets didn't get kicked out by the western big teams either. It wasn't the spurs, thunder or the clippers. It was the trailblazers

:laugh3:

You guys are being waaaaay to hard on Dwight. He said he was leaving the Lakers because he felt that he had a better chance of winning in Houston.

And he was right.........................he won 2 more playoff games with the Rockets than with the Lakers!!

Exactly. If you look at Dwight's overall numbers for the series, they look great. He averaged 25+ points and 14+ rebounds per game.

However, in the 2nd of half of every game (especially late in games), he showed why he won't ever lead a team to a title. He is still very limited offensively as he has no "go to" move and he doesn't hit free throws.

If Dwight is to ever win a title, the Rockets will have to add one more star player and Dwight will have to accept a lesser, Chris Bosh type role. Considering that when he was with the Lakers he thought he knew more about winning rings than a guy with 5 of them, I'd say it's unlikely that he's accept that type of role.

I'm a big fan of Steve Blake, possibly the only one here on the SportsHoopla. Dude's a baller. That being said, if they bring back both Marshall and Farmar, I'm not sure there's another roster spot left for Blake. Maybe they figure they'll need to carry an extra with the likelihood of Nash missing time again though.

He was great in Portland as well. He adds value to a team and can hit big shots. The cost for him shouldn't be that high in my OP.

I hated the bastard when he was in Portland.

He always seemed to light it up vs. the Lakers. I was very happy to have him on our side when the Lakers got him.

Stevie Blake will be back after GS gets done with their post season. He has already stated he wants to return. The only obstacle is if the Lakers refuse to sign him.

I would pass on re signing him, too many injuries with him.

I wouldn't be too worried about Houston until they get a Big 3, Harden and Dwight won't cut it unless they're surrounded by knock down shooters.

It's tough to win in the playoffs when your top 2 either can't hit free throws (Dwight) or bait the refs to get to the line to get your points (Harden). Harden either needs to cut the crap and become the go-to scorer, or they need to find one elsewhere.

Yeah, and the Rockets didn't have half their guys on the IR like the Lakers did.
