I still feel it will be 9-7. They make the playoffs and lose to San Fran but beat Carolina first game. Get blasted second regardless. Schwartz keeps his job and I still bitch next year.

I dont see a team they can beat in the playoffs IF they make it.

Now it's about draft position and I'll be rooting for a loss along with a lot of cleaning house.

I like how every year the people that are supposedly pessimists are right more often than not and every year the homers eat crow but still cant admit they are living in reality. How much more proof do you need? You really blame the nine losses solely on schwartz and linehan? And if you do, guess what they were here at the beginning of the season and that should have been factored in when you thought about how well the lions would do this year. By the way, there really arent many pessimists on the lions board. There are realists though. Muzzer has great things to say on the tigers board. Why? Because they actually have a great team. Once again this really has nothing to do with negativity, it does have something to do with reality. I think the lions are one good draft away from being contenders. I didnt think they were a good team this year and said it often. It ended up turning out to be true. But somehow speaking the truth here gets you labelled as a negative pessimist, year after year. When the lions put a good product on the field these so called pessimists will have positive things to say more often than not. I suppose there may be a few people here that will still be negative but there will definitely be a change.

You should be proud though. I dont agree with you about everything, just like everyone else here. But when I dont agree with you I dont belittle you. Be proud that you have a grasp of the lions and arent fooled by them when they are pretending, and disregard that everyone that talked about them as a lock for the playoffs and sb contenders wont admit the were wrong, again. Anyone that knows anything here knows how little credibility they have. This post isnt directed toward you lionsfansince1900. You are alright in my book.

Just getting this thread closer to the top because this year should get a little interesting.

If the Schwartz is strong, the Lions are a 10-6 to 12-4 team. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. Any fuck ups and all bets are off and we are looking at a whole new staff next year.

Now that was an accurate prediction.

I think the Lions will go 7-9 this upcoming season. If Stafford throws his usual pick 6's at the end of the game shit then I say 4-12 or 5-11 .

We could be much better than last year or even a little worse if the learning curve is steep. In order to have an idea of good we are, one would have to know how smart our players are. I don't think anyone can know that.


I would say after the 3rd preseason game we will have an idea how far along everyone is in picking up the new systems.

Im just used to the Lions. Past 41 years for me. You have to remember O.L. that in the past the Lions have had great preseasons and well, you know. I'l keep my fingers crossed that the Lions can have a winning season.

We have a talented roster, but with a new coaching staff it can often take a year to get all the kinks ironed out...
