I think Knighton signed for 4 million with the Redskins. I think the Lions could have made a multiple year deal cap friendly for him. I meant Fluellin not Mosely when I said Walker would be an upgrade.

I think everyone is viewing Knighton the same as Fairly in that he can be a lazy fatass and noone wants to take a big chance on that.

Lions probably figure they take the chance with the younger guy instead of bringing Mosely back. Definitely worth the gamble here. He put up decent numbers for the amount of snaps he had. As far as being a NT, I find it hard to believe at only 295 lbs, but who knows. Need to get more info on him.

We will still need 1 more DT though IMO.

We already have plenty of guys built to play OLB in a 3-4. Especally the pass russing specialist OLB. In a lot of 3-4 sets the one OLB drops into pass no more than 2 or 3 times a games. Ansah already did that as a DE last year. Van Noy Whitehead and Levy could all man the other spot even though I'd like to see it be a competition between Van Noy and Whitehead with Levy inside. We have a couple of guys with the size and strength to play DE with the addition of Ngata. The only real need for a complete switch to a 3-4 is two real nose tackles. At this point we have a passing down 3-4 available, but no space eaters for run downs. Then again maybe we run
a more Wade Phillips type of 3-4 with some hard attacking defensive linemen and can get away with a little bit smaller than typical nose tackles.
