Looks like the defense will be the weakest link once again. Please lil baby Jesus can GB get someone that knows how to coach a successful D.
Well, so far the D gives up points in the beginning and the end but gets stingy in the middle of the game. Not sure what to think right now other than they remind me of last years D and we all know how that ended. I think you’re right, AR and the offense will have to outscore everybody but again we all know how that ended. Feels like I’m watching the movie ground hog day with this team. I have my theory why this D doesn’t change much but I’m just a fan.I'm scared for this Packers D the next few games when they play seemingly functional offenses, but I'll take 2-0 for now. Guess there's gonna be a lot of shootout games this season, sure looking like it.
That might not be the same team as last year, Bosa, Mostert, Thomas and Jimmy G were all hurt today....not all season enders, but that might not be a conference champion caliber team by the time we get to them...then again the Pack could have some key guys go out too...sometimes it's about when you play a team...A few games from now we'll see how much of a Groundhog Day season it is if the Pack lose to the Niners by 30 again.
That's the Groundhog Day thing that bothers me the most, GB has done that forever, especially when Capers was at the defensive helm. Here comes the Lions....it's so not shocking the Packer's D softens up once they get a 2 or 3 score lead....
What is the last time we can say the Pack leads the league in rushing yards at 417, in yards per carry 6.2 and points at 85?
I disagree. The old adage, defense wins championships still rings true for the most part. The 49ers didn't get to the ship because their offense was a juggernaut. The defense did. All those high draft picks were more hits than misses and it payed off. Just look at the NFCCG last year. I think its fair to say GB had a better offense than SF but their defense was far better than GB. GB's defense was thoroughly embarrassed in that game.People can bitch and moan about the D all they want, but with the way the rules are weighted to the O, you're just looking to get a few stops per game and get your O to control the clock and game. I'm not sure there are too many teams that are going to win a Lombardi on the back of their D...it's just not played that way any more.
