Lions didn't answer woodleys calls

There's a report out that Lamar Woodley wanted to come to the d and was even interested in giving a hometown discount. But the Lions didn't answer his calls and showed no interest.

Now this sounds like a mistake on the Lions part. We could use Woodley and maybe they felt they couldn't afford him, or wanted that money elsewhere but they could have taken a look.

Maybe they didn't feel his role in Pitt's 3-4 D would transition well to our D?

He ended up with the Raiders. Pretty much where all washed up vets with big names end up going when no one else wants them.

I don't blame the Lions, or any team who doesn't find the time to return calls to old players looking for work. That's not how it works. Teams devote 100% of their time in FA to the players they want, not to the ones who are just looking to get paid.
