I dislike Patricia so much I am wishing we had Rod "Pad Level" Maranelli back

Why? He 180ed the defense last year. We were bottom 5 until he made a few changes and also got Snacks. The last half of the season this was a borderline top 10 defense. And that was with Lawson and Ford in the secondary.

Give Bevell a chance to straighten out the offense and this will be a winning team. Whether they become good enough to make a run in the playoffs remains to be seen. Stafford would need to get his head out of his ass by the end of preseason instead of after game 4.

FA this year was fabulous not to mention the drafts the last 2 years were better then any Lions draft in recent history.

How can FA be fabulous and nobody has even played a snap for the Lions yet? lol
Lang and Wagner had to be considered great pickups in FA too before we got jack shit results.
Let's wait to see how well Flowers and the rest of the Pats castoffs play for us first.

The last two drafts have been pretty good, lots of them have just had flashes. But it's time for some of them to put it all together and emerge as pro bowl players.

You can only go by they have done up to now unless they are old. Lang played well the few times he actually played. You cant forecast injuries. Wagner has been a huge disappointment though. He was arguably the best RT in the league in BAL before coming here. He lost a step for some reason way before OLs tend to lose a step.

Risner might end up being the jewel of this group. I wouldnt mind if we ended up with him in the 2nd. It would allow us to move Glasgow back to LG and Ragnow to RG. Doubt it will happen though.

Ed Oliver DL, Houston Cougars

Houston DT Ed Oliver said the Tennessee Titans were "one of the teams who wanted me to play outside linebacker."
Many laughed when reports surfaced that Oliver (6'1/287) was being looked at as a linebacker, but that's certainly the case. Oliver's freaky athleticism could make sense at linebacker depending on the scheme, so he's going to go through some linebacker drills at Houston's Pro Day, according to Lance Zierlein who also notes that some teams have grades on Oliver at inside linebacker. This situation continues to pick up steam, but it's still more likely that a team will draft him as a defensive tackle. The Titans, who own the 19th overall pick, will have to trade up to draft Oliver.

BB_72; I've read this line of thinking about Oliver playing some OLB on more than three occasions now and coming from different sources/media outlets.

Gary Jennings WR, West Virginia Mountaineers

West Virginia WR Gary Jennings was first among top wide receiver prospects with a 54% contested catch rate.
Jennings (6'1/214) doesn't get a ton of love from the draft community despite catching 97 passes as a junior, scoring 13 touchdowns as a senior, leading the group in contested catch rate, and running a 4.42-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. Jennings also had the 2nd-best touchdown rate (17.6%) and averaged the 4th-best yards per target (12.6), so he has the profile of a Day 2 prospect despite sitting on the Day 2/3 borderline.

Ty Johnson RB, Maryland Terrapins

Maryland RB Ty Johnson ran the 40-yard dash in the 4.35-4.40 range at his pro day.
These times are often inflated, but Johnson (5'9/205) is quite fast. NFL Draft Scout's Ric Serritella called Johnson "one of the fastest players in the year's draft" and that was before today's time. In 2018, Johnson averaged 7.7 yards on his 66 carries (506 yards), but he posted 1,194 career yards as a kick returner. Not getting an NFL Scouting Combine invite hurts his chances, but his speed should earn him an opportunity during the NFL preseason. Johnson could sneak into the very end of the draft.

Darrell Henderson RB, Memphis Tigers

Pro Football Focus' Scott Barrett notes that Memphis RB Darrell Henderson had the softest rushing strength of schedule of any NFL Combine invitee.
Henderson (5'8/208) was running behind PFF's third-ranked offensive line as well, so those two notes partially explain Henderson's back to back seasons with 8.9 yards per carry. However, even with that in mind, Barrett said Henderson is "probably one of the five best runners in the class and also has underrated upside as a receiver." Henderson was compared to James White by NFL Film's Greg Cosell, and he has 50-catch upside if he lands in the right offense. Expect Henderson to be selected near the Day 2/3 turn.

Miles Boykin WR, Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Athletic's Dane Brugler compares Notre Dame WR Miles Boykin to Donte Moncrief.
Moncrief has had his moments, but he's never been more than a low-end starter in the NFL. Boykin (6'4/220) will likely receive starts in the NFL after testing like a 99th percentile athlete in the broad jump, which has historically been the most important NFL Scouting Combine measure for receivers who weigh over 215 pounds. Boykin's ceiling is obviously high with his athleticism, but Brugler and most other draft analysts expect him to come off the board on Day 2.

David Montgomery RB, Iowa State Cyclones

Cyclone Report's Bill Seals relays that the "consensus" had Iowa State RB David Montgomery putting in a 40-yard dash time in the low 4.5's during his pro day on Tuesday.
Montgomery (5'10/224) ran a forgettable 4.63-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. Looks like he was able to shave a nice chunk off of that during his pro day sprint. With Josh Jacobs failing to impress at his own pro day (remember, Jacobs has no combine numbers to fall back on, as he sat out tests injured), Montgomery may be working himself into position to be the first running back off the board come the draft.

Jace Sternberger TE, Texas A&M Aggies

Texas A&M TE Jace Sternberger has seven official visits with NFL teams in April.
Sternberger (6'4/251) will be chatting with the Packers, Lions, Vikings, Cowboys, Texans, Seahawks, and Chiefs over the next two or three weeks. Only the Chiefs have a no-brainer starting tight end among the teams listed, so these would be nice landing spots for the 2018 breakout. Sternberger doesn't do it with tons of athleticism, but he was a consistent threat down the seam for the Aggies (10.7 YPT with 10 touchdowns). Sternberger will likely end up as a Day 2 selection and needs to be viewed as a fringe top-five tight end for dynasty leagues.

Sternberger doesn't offer much as an in-line blocker but downfield and out in space he's more than capable of holding his own blocking for rb/wr. He's one of the better route runners of this years TE class. imo.

N'Keal Harry WR, Arizona State Sun Devils

NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah said Arizona State WR N'Keal Harry reminds him of Dez Bryant.
Jeremiah writes, "Harry reminds me of Dez Bryant with his ability to play above the rim." Harry (6'0/228) lacks a second gear according to NFL Film's Greg Cosell, but his ability to win with the ball in the air and win on underneath routes have most analysts very intrigued. Other common comparisons for Harry are Alshon Jeffery, Allen Robinson, and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Noah Fant TE, Iowa Hawkeyes

NFL Media's Lance Zierlein compares Iowa TE Noah Fant to Indianapolis Colts TE Eric Ebron.
Fant (6'4/249) profiles similarly to Ebron in the sense they were both athletic with a lot of upside but a bit raw. Zierlein notes that Fant "needs to get stronger and more competitive at the point of attack to help a run game, but if that never happens, his ability to uncover and hit big plays will still make him a coveted prize." Fant has routinely been mocked inside the 1st round and even inside the top-10. He and his former teammate, T.J. Hockenson, will likely be the first two tight ends off the board in April.

Not trying to be Debbie downer here but isn't it a notoriously bad sign when lots of different teams want to try the guy at different places because they aren't sold on him as a true DT? It screams "Tweener".

I still think there is a great chance that this guy turns out to be the best RB of the class when all is said and done. He reminds me of Doug Martin (early career). i predict he will go around the same range as Martin too. I believe he went early 2nd.

I think this guy is a sleeper selection at #8 for the Lions. Everyone is talking about defense here but I wouldn't overlook this guy being the pick.
If you can start at LT for the crimson tide as a true freshman. You have to be a bad ass and an elite football player.

I have heard nothing on Taylor Deckers 5th year option either. Eerily quiet. You could be right. I have also seen some mocks where Quinnen Williams falls to us. That would be a no brainer. Best pro ready player in the draft IMO.

no. not imo.

He's highly athletic and there exists a player who can be extremely versatile to which fits BQ/MP M.O.
